C48: Change of Plans

I raced to Isabelle's after our 5 second call. That shit got me worried. First she don't come to work, and then she can't even talk to me on the phone real quick.

I run to the door and knock frantically. Is she hurt or sick or what? I ring the doorbell and she still doesn't answer.

"Isabelle! It's me!" I shout before I start banging on the door again.

The door opens, and I'm quickly greeted with a hug. Now this is unexpected.

"Hey, you good?" I ask as I wrap my arms around her

"You can't let me down this time Chris." She says

"Huh, what're you talking about?"

"Did you talk to Kae?" She asks

Barely. I couldn't even get her to stop talking about the wedding...and the fact that her and her family decided to bump the wedding to next week. I'm not quite sure how Isabelle will take this. But I hope she gives me time.

"I did..." I answer

She backs up from me and looks at me. She knows I'm hiding something.

"Chris. Did you break the engagement." She tells me

"No, I couldn't her fa-"

She puts her hand up in my face and I stop.

"You really are something else." She says

"Let me explain, please."

"Explain what, what is there to explain? You didn't break it off, so you're obviously in love with her too." She states

"Isabelle really, I loved her at one point but the only one I'm in love with is you."

She's avoiding eye contact so I know she's pissed but if I tell her the truth... She might be over it. Oh well.

"The weddings next week." I tell her and her head shoots up at me

"Excuse me? What?" She asks

"Look I went to talk to her and she was all excited about her family being early and decided that the wedding would be moved to next week."

"Well that's just great. Just fucking great Chris." She replies

"What am I supposed to do Isabelle?" I ask her

"What do you meant what are you supposed to do! Break.it.off. I don't want you to marry her!" She says coming close to me again

Now this is new...and something I want to hear.

"And why not?"

"Wha-what do you mean why not!? Because you love me! And well... I love you too Chris. You should know that." She says

"I've been waiting for you to say it though."

"Of course I love you. I just told my Dad and he kicked me out of his house."

"You told your Dad?"

"Yeah, he was trying to make me quit or get you away from me and I realized I couldn't do that. I would be just torturing myself if I moved on or tried to stay away from you." She tells me

"Ah Isabelle." I hold her face and look at her and she looks happy but hurt too.

"Chris, we can't move forward if you don't do it... You have 6 days. It would be horrendous to leave her at the altar. And plus you could've called this off anytime. So, there you go. 6 days or there's no us. Ever again." She says
