C15: Hospital Life

CHRIS POV
"Ma...?" Belle says and I nod

I get up out of my seat and go and give her a hug. She squeezes me tight, and I know she's relieved that I'm not going crazy.

"I'm glad you're here." I tell her

"Me too angel."

I turn with my arm still wrapped around her and face Isabelle.

"Ma, this is Isabelle. My girlfriend." I say

She tries to get up but Moms flies out my arms and stops her.

"Oh no, don't get up." She tells her

"I'm sorry we have to meet like this, I look a mess. But I'm so glad to meet you Ms. Joyce." Isabelle says with a smile

"Oh honey, you can call me Mom too." She says and I look at her shocked.

Everyone else I've dated before called her Ms. Joyce.

"How are you feeling Isabelle?" She asks

"I'm doin okay, these pain meds make me feel good... As bad as that sounds." Isabelle chuckles, and so does my Mom.

She sits down and takes one of Isabelle's hands.

"I have such a good feeling about you. I've seen some of the photos of you and my boy and you guys look very good together." She says

"Thank you so much." Isabelle responds

"Come here Chris." Moms says to me.

I walk over and pull up another chair next to her. She grabs my hand and puts it on top of Isabelle's but looks at Isabelle, who looks from me to her.

"I couldn't help but overhear what you were saying earlier about my son here. I know he's probably stubborn and may seem hard to love at times, but I know you will. He does have a big heart, he just wants to show it to the right one." She says and Isabelle smiles at her.

"I knew I was spot on about him." Isabelle says

"You're very observant, I know you'll watch over him for me. Make sure he doesn't be going crazy in public." Ma tells her

"Not with me around Mama." She says

Moms smiles ear to ear when she hears that.

"Ma did you check in to the hotel yet?" I ask

"No boy, I came straight here to see you and my daughter in law." She states

"Well maybe you should check in and get a lil rest, I think Isabelle should get some too." I say

"Chris, maybe you should go and take a nap too." Isabelle suggests

"Nah shawty, I'm gonna go make sure everything's good for Moms and I'll be back." I tell her

"Alright, I'll see you when you get back. I'll see you soon too Momma hopefully when my face is more healed up." Isabelle says

"Of course, and honey; you're still beautiful. You're bright aura shows that." She tells her

I grab my Moms bags and she clears her throat.

"What?" I ask

"You're just gonna leave without saying goodbye to your girlfriend?"

"But ima be ba-" She glares at me so I walk to Isabelle and lean over and kiss her on the cheek.

"I won't be long."

"I know. You can't stay away from me that long anyways." She says and winks at me

There is no other girl like this one.
