RHAENYS TOLD Rhaenrya of her father's death. But that was not all of the news to be told, "There is more." She spoke as she approached Rhaenrya. "Aegon has been crowned as his successor."

"They crowned— him?" Rhaenrya began.

"How did Viserys die?" Daemon inquired.

"I could not say...but there is one last thing." Rhaenys trailed off. Daemon and Rhaenrya only looked at her with weary stares. "Rhaelys is alive— and in possession of the Hightowers." She looked down at her feet, almost unable to force this out of her mouth. Feeling betrayed by her own kin. Her granddaughter. Her late son's only true-born child.

Rhaenrya spoke again, "How long ago? Is she okay?" Her voice was weak, shaking. Worried for her middle child.

"A day passed...perhaps two. I was made a prisoner in my court as while the Queen made her preparations." The older woman spoke speedily.

"Viserys has been slain. And your only daughter has been taken hostage for God's know how long." Daemon scoffed.

"I—," Rhaenys began, "I am not certain that she has been taken hostage."

"Why?" Rhaenrya practically gasped.

"Tis hard to explain. But, well, she did not look any less than pleased to be in their presence." Rhaenys admitted.

Rhaenrya held her pregnant belly as she tried her best to stomach what was happening. She didn't believe her daughter was not scared. She must have been...she fully believed that her daughter was in danger and in need of saving. "Alicent demanded you declare for Aegon?" She asked in shock, eyes growing sore.

"She did." Rhaenys confirmed, showing no emotion. "I refused her."

"And yet you are alive." Daemon spoke as if the whole room wasn't aware of this fact.

"The High Septon crowned Aegon in the Dragonpit." Rhaenys tried to explain, Rhaenrya letting out a slight cry. "'And there Rhaelys stood, beside Ser Criston and the rest of Alicent's children...smiling— as if she were proud." This caused Rhaenrya's cries to grow louder. "I witnessed it myself just before I fled on Maelys."

"They crowned him before the masses?"

"So that the masses would see him as their rightful King!"
