Chapter 37

I woke up in a hospital surrounded by unknown people claiming I knew them. I was convinced they were crazy, why? One girl called me seb, one Deia, one called me anak. I swear. I haven't met any of them.

But there's one thing I remembered after I passed out when I had an outburst, I lost my voice. I was actually hoping it was just a dream but no.

The girls in my room tried to talk to me with worry plastered on their faces.

"Seb, last try please? Last na talaga..." the girl told me with a voice quavering.

Even though I didn't know her, I opened my mouth and tried to speak but nothing came out of it.

With tears forming in my eyes and soul losing hope, I shook my head. The girl who called me seb bit her lip as her eyes welled up with tears. The girl with innocent beauty comforted her and a girl number 4,the one with a timid face comforted me.

A nurse entered my room. "Good morning Amadeia, I'm nurse Anna. How are you feeling today?" she asked.

I shook my head and held my throat.

Why the hell can't I talk?! What happened to me?!

"Don't worry, Amadeia. Nasangkot ka kasi sa isang car accident. Nakakuha ka ng ibang injuries at kabilang na don ang pansamantalang pagkawala ng boses at ala-ala mo. Pero babalik din naman dahil sabi ni Doktora Valentine iu-undergo ka daw sa vocal therapy. It might take some time to regain your memory too, pa unti-unti lang kasi ang pagbalik." she explained, before using medical apparatus used to get someone's blood pressure.

Pagkawala ng ala-ala? What the... I have amnesia?! Nagsimula nang bumagsak ang mga luha ko. No...no, no, no, no. This can't be. Does Mom and Dad knew this? Kaya ba hindi nila ako pinupuntahan kasi hindi nila alam na naaksidente ako? Si Aria? Nasan siya? Kasama ko ba? I stared at the nurse and her eyes landed on me.

"Kukuhanin ko lang blood pressure mo ha." she said and smiled at me. "Tahan na, alam kong mahirap pero konting tyaga, alam kong makakaraos ka din." she said.

Pagkatapos akong kuhanan ng BP ay kinausap ako ng mga babae. Ngayon ay medyo pamilyar na mga hitsura nila sakin. They hugged me and I could hear their sobs.

"We are so worried about you Deia... we can get through this. You're strong, kaya mo 'to huh." girl number 4 said.

"Kapag may problema kami, isang tawag lang pupuntahan mo agad... Ngayong ikaw ang nangangailangan, we promise hindi ka namin iiwan." girl number 2 says.

"You are my best friend-cousin, seb. You're not alone in this journey." girl number 1 says.

"You might not remember us this time but I'm sure, your heart remembers us. Kung hindi naman, we can still be friends." girl number 3 uttered.

I attempted to communicate with them through gestures but I struggled to express it without words.

"It's normal to be frustrated, Amadeia. May sign board akong ipapadala dito mamaya para makatulong sayo... I'll go now, see you later." Nurse Anna said and left my room.

Kumalas sa yakap ang mga kaibigan ko. They handed me a paper and a pen. They told me to write my thoughts there. I asked them what their name was. The one girl who called me seb is Alexa, the one with innocent beauty was Gab, the one with timid face was Ysabelle and the girl who was mad because the doctor can't be fast earlier was Leiannah.

'Where's Mom, Dad and Aria?' I wrote, making them look at each other.

"Deia..."

"Tine..."
