SOME DUNGEON IN THE MIDDLE REALMS - AFTERNOON
Somewhere far away, there is a single candle sitting on the floor of a dimly lit room.
This is a world unlike any other.

It is devoid of color.

The gentle flame on the candle's wick is but a white dot in a sea of darkness.

CLASH! CLANG!

Melting wax drips down the candle. Curiously, a single iron nail is hammered into it near the top. As the white flame eats away at its source of energy, the iron nail begins to wobble loose.

CLANG! CLASH!

The iron nail is dislodged from the wax and falls onto the brilliant sterling silver tray below. The tiny nail makes an outsized DING.

The sound of clashing steel halts for a moment.

The 'ding' has caught the attention of a WIZARD. She calls out to her fellow adventurers.

WIZARD: "Our shift is ended!"

The BARBARIAN of the group holsters his axe on his back.

BARBARIAN: "Finally. I could stomach this hunger no more."

The ROGUE tosses away her blades, long dulled from a day's work. The three of them make their way to the nearest exit.

They leave a pile of freshly slain monsters in their wake.

OUTSIDE THE STRUTTING STEED TAVERN & INN - AFTERNOON
Dark clouds begin to gather over the group of adventurers.

BARBARIAN: "Aye, a storm approaches."

ROGUE: "No better way to weather it than with friends and feast."

The Wizard of the group grabs the handle to the tavern's door.

NIGHT CLUB VIP ROOM IN THE HUMAN WORLD - EVENING
The adventurers walk into a room that is entirely alien in nature.
They've stepped into the human world, a domain of vibrant neon lights and incessant bass-induced tremors. The group of adventurers have traded their armor and weapons for polos and chinos. An unknown voice begins to narrate.

NARRATOR: "You have all stepped into the nightclub's VIP room. MR. PAULSON and his fellow LIONS are making merry with drink."

WIZARD: "Mr. Paulson! We approach your company as humble heralds of fame and fortune!"

STRUTTING STEED GAME ROOM - EVENING
The adventurers are in the middle of playing a tabletop board game inside a tightly packed tavern in The Middle Realms.

Feast and friends are plentiful here. All color is absent in this fantasy world, giving this otherwise jovial scene the air of an old war film.

The tabletop game is played on top of a scrap of parchment with a crude ink rendering of a human world city (streets, roads, buildings, and all.) The players' avatars on this board are roughly whittled, hand-painted pieces of wood.

A large, imposing wooden figure sits in the center of their "board." This is clearly the 'boss' of this encounter. It is flanked by several smaller pieces, all identical. Those are meant to be his lieutenants.

NARRATOR: "MR. PAULSON looks up. He and his company of INVESTORS are fashioned in custom suits that cost the annual budget of a public school district, each."

INVESTOR: "Does it look like we're short on either?"

NARRATOR: "But! Mr. Paulson dismisses his underling with a wave of his hand."
