Knock, knock, knock.

Several HIRED HANDS are hammering away in Samara's living room.

SAMUEL LEE (on the phone): "Hey princess, did you make all these purchases on the card just now?"

SAMARA: "Yup. Everything is okay. This was all me."

SAMUEL LEE (on the phone): "$10,000 at Morse & Slattery? What for?"

SAMARA: "A new bed...."

The Hired Hands assemble a bed frame and remove a mattress from its box.

SAMUEL LEE (on the phone): "Didn't we buy a new one earlier this year? To replace the one you've had for years?"

Sam struggles to think of an explanation.

SAMARA: "... I... just didn't like the one I got, and a friend recommended a different brand!"

SAMUEL LEE (on the phone): "Okay... I'm also seeing this other $10,000 charge. For a Shopping Assistant?"

A STYLIST is getting Remy's physical measurements with a fabric tape measure.

SAMARA: "Yeah... just looking into getting some new clothes! I would go shopping myself if I weren't so busy, is all!"

Samara's dad goes quiet for a moment.

On Sam's father's side of the phone, he is looking at security footage through a tablet.

SAMUEL LEE: "Because I can see all of it happening live in front of me through your newly installed cameras."

SAMARA (on the phone): "WHAT THE FUCK."

SAMARA: "WHY ARE YOU SPYING ON ME?!"

SAMUEL LEE (on the phone): "Because you just had a serious break-in, I saw all these suspicious transactions on your card. I was worried!"

SAMARA: "IT'S OK! IT'S OK! I HAVE EVERYTHING UNDER CONTROL!!"

SAMUEL LEE (on the phone): "Just who are you buying all this stuff for?!"

Samara winces and makes herself small.

SAMARA: "My uh... group project partner....?"
