Three days later

The night wore on, tension gradually giving way to a sense of uneasy calm at the safe house. Aurora, still reeling from the intense magical battle, found herself seeking solace in the form of a bottle of whiskey she discovered tucked away in a cupboard. Sitting with Kate and Yelena in the dimly lit living room, she poured herself a generous glass, the alcohol burning slightly as it went down.

Kate watched Aurora quietly, concern evident in her eyes. "You sure you should be drinking that much?" she asked cautiously.

Aurora shrugged, her normally composed demeanor unraveling in the face of exhaustion and lingering adrenaline. "Just need something to take the edge off," she muttered, taking another sip.

Yelena, ever the blunt one, glanced at Kate with a small smirk. "Looks like you've got your hands full tonight, Hawkeye."

Kate rolled her eyes playfully but kept a watchful eye on Aurora, sensing her vulnerability. "We all need to unwind sometimes," she replied, attempting to lighten the mood.

As the alcohol started to take effect, Aurora's usual restraint slipped further. She leaned in closer to Kate, her words slightly slurred. "You know, Kate," she began with a mischievous grin, "you're even more impressive up close."

Kate chuckled nervously, caught off guard by Aurora's sudden flirtation. "Uh, thanks? I think?"

Wanda, drawn by the commotion, entered the room just in time to witness Aurora's tipsy advances. She frowned slightly, feeling a pang of jealousy towards Kate. "Aurora, maybe you should slow down on the drinking," she suggested gently, trying to redirect the conversation.

Aurora glanced over at Wanda, her expression shifting from playful to earnest. "Sorry, Wanda," she murmured, her voice tinged with remorse. "Didn't mean to... I just..."

Wanda softened, understanding the underlying turmoil. "It's okay," she reassured Aurora, stepping closer. "Let's just relax together, alright?"

Yelena, ever pragmatic, decided to lighten the mood with a smirk. "I didn't know you had a thing for archers, Aurora. Is that your type now?"

Aurora chuckled softly, the tension in the room easing slightly. "Maybe," she admitted with a shrug, her gaze drifting back to Kate. "Maybe I just appreciate skilled hands."

Kate blushed furiously, unsure how to respond to Aurora's drunken flirtation. Wanda, sensing the need to defuse the situation, cleared her throat gently. "How about we all get some rest?" she suggested diplomatically, shooting Yelena a look that dared her to make another comment.

Yelena relented with a smirk, recognizing Wanda's silent warning. "Sure, sure. Let's all sleep off the drama for tonight."

With a collective agreement, they dispersed to their respective rooms, leaving behind the remnants of a chaotic evening. Wanda lingered for a moment, her gaze lingering on Aurora, who looked unusually vulnerable in the flickering candlelight.

As she turned to leave, Wanda couldn't shake the feeling of unease that gnawed at her. Marcus's strange behavior during the battle, coupled with Aurora's uncharacteristic flirtation, left her with more questions than answers. Resolving to keep a closer eye on things, Wanda retreated to her room, hoping for clarity in the morning light.
