The next day, while Kate and Aurora were relaxing at home, the doorbell rang. Aurora answered it to find Sophie standing there with a warm smile.
"Hey, I hope I'm not intruding," Sophie said, her silver hair catching the light. "I just wanted to see how you were feeling after last night, Yelena told me..."
Aurora welcomed Sophie in, feeling a strange sense of familiarity in her presence. They chatted casually, and Sophie subtly continued her conversation from the club about Aurora's life, making Aurora feel more comfortable.
Meanwhile, Wanda, who had been observing the interaction from a distance, approached Aurora with a mischievous smile. "You know, that dress looked amazing on you last night," she said, her eyes lingering on Aurora's figure. Sophie looked at Wanda with confusion.
Aurora blushed, feeling a twinge of excitement at Wanda's attention. "Thanks, Wanda. You didn't look too bad yourself," she replied, her voice softening.
Wanda took a step closer, her eyes locking onto Aurora's. "Maybe we could go out again sometime, just the two of us," she suggested, her tone flirting.
Aurora felt a flutter in her chest but before she could respond, Kate entered the room. Sensing the tension, she changed the subject. "Aurora, have you heard from Yelena today?"
Aurora shook her head, but just as she was about to speak, her phone rang. It was Yelena. She answered it, and Yelena's voice came through, agitated. "Kate, we need to talk. Now."
Kate frowned and left the room, the argument escalating quickly on the phone. Aurora and Wanda exchanged worried glances, but they both knew better than to interfere.
Later that evening, Mia dropped by to discuss a new case with Aurora. "I’ve got a challenging one for you," Mia said, laying out the details on the table. "A killer, he says he did it but he doesn't want go to prison."
Aurora, eager for a distraction from the emotional turmoil, delved into the case details with Mia. "This looks complicated," she said thoughtfully, "He deserves to be in prison if he's guilty..."
As the night deepened, Sophie excused herself to leave, but not before giving Aurora a lingering look. "I'll see you soon, Aurora," she said softly, her eyes filled with unspoken promises.
After Sophie left, Wanda approached Aurora once more. "I meant what I said earlier," she murmured, brushing a strand of hair from Aurora's face. "Let's go out, just us."
Aurora smiled, feeling a mix of excitement and sadness thinking about Natasha. "I don't know, Wanda..." Wanda touched Aurora's hands smiling. " If you meant what you said about moving on, I'm here to help you..." She said still touching Aurora's hands.
Meanwhile, outside, Kate ended her call with Yelena, frustration evident in her expression. Yelena had been acting so strange and Kate felt the weight of their argument. She walked back inside, her eyes meeting Aurora's. "What the hell is her problem" she said, her voice strained.
Aurora frowned, sensing the seriousness in Kate's tone. But before they could begin, Mia interrupted. "Sorry to break this up, but we have witnesses in the case "
Aurora took a deep breath, her mind spinning with the complexities of her personal life and the new case. "Let's go," she said, pushing aside her emotions to focus on the task at hand.
As they prepared to leave, Wanda gave Aurora a reassuring squeeze on her shoulder. "Good luck..." she whispered.
Aurora nodded, grateful for the support. "Thank you..."
