A/N: I graduated omgggggg!!!!
Aurora spent the next few days avoiding Wanda's gaze, her fear and guilt gnawing at her. Despite Wanda's attempts to bridge the gap, Aurora couldn't bring herself to face her.
One afternoon, as Aurora was sitting in the garden, Kate found her, a light breeze rustling the leaves around them. "Mind if I join you?" Kate asked, her voice gentle.
Aurora glanced up, managing a small smile. "Not at all."
Kate sat down beside her, studying her friend with a mix of curiosity and concern. "Is everything okay?"
Aurora sighed, her shoulders slumping. "I'm okay Kate just tired with a new case coming up and Mia went to see her parents for the weekend so I'm alone"
Kate reached out, placing a comforting hand on Aurora's arm. "I can try to help you, after you helped Jason... But I don't know anything about law cuz you know, I break them...but I'm here for you."
Aurora chuckled, feeling a warmth in her heart. "Thanks, Kate. That means a lot."
Wanda was growing increasingly frustrated. She watched Aurora from a distance, her heart aching with the need to understand why Aurora was scared of her. She knew something was wrong, but every time she tried to talk to Aurora, she was met with avoidance.
__
One evening, Wanda found Aurora in the kitchen, preparing a simple meal. Summoning her courage, she approached her. "Aurora, can we talk?"Aurora froze, her back to Wanda. "I'm busy right now."
Wanda sighed, stepping closer. "Please, Aurora. I need to understand. Why are you scared of me?"
Aurora's hands trembled as she set the knife down. "I don't want to talk about it."
Wanda's frustration bubbled over. "You can't keep running from this! From me!"
Aurora turned, her eyes filled with a mixture of fear and sadness. "I'm not running. I just...."
Wanda reached out, but Aurora flinched, stepping back. "Please, Aurora. I just want to help."
Aurora shook her head, tears welling in her eyes. "I can't do this right now."
With that, she fled the kitchen, leaving Wanda standing there, her heart breaking.
Kate found Aurora later, sitting alone in her room. "Hey," she said softly, sitting beside her. "Want to talk about it?"
Aurora shook her head, but Kate's presence was comforting. She leaned into her, feeling the warmth of her friend's support. "Thank you for being here, Kate."
Kate wrapped an arm around her. "Always."
_________The next morning, the safe house was quiet. Aurora felt a renewed sense of strength, despite the tension with Wanda. She moved through the house, noticing Wanda in the kitchen, preparing breakfast.
"Good morning," Aurora greeted, her voice tentative.
Wanda looked up, a forced smile on her face but surprised by Aurora talking to her."Morning, Aurora. Sleep well?"
"Better," Aurora admitted, stepping closer. "Wanda I care about you, I lot. ."
Wanda's eyes twinkled with affection, but there was an underlying sadness. "I care about you too, Aurora..."
Aurora hesitated. "Wanda, I-"
Before she could finish, Kate entered the kitchen, her presence a welcome distraction. "Hey, you two. Mind if I join you for breakfast?"
Wanda forced a smile, hiding her disappointment. "Of course not."
---
As the day wore on, Kate took every opportunity to get close to Aurora, sensing the growing rift between her and Wanda. She was supportive and understanding, her easygoing nature a balm to Aurora's troubled mind.
Wanda, however, couldn't shake the feeling of jealousy and frustration. She watched as Kate and Aurora grew closer, her heart aching with the fear of losing Aurora.
---
That evening, Aurora found herself alone in the living room, lost in thought. Wanda approached her cautiously, taking a seat beside her.
"Aurora," she began, her voice soft. "I need to know why you're scared of me."
Aurora avoided her gaze, her hands clasped tightly in her lap. "It's not you, Wanda. It's me. I'm scared of losing control. Of hurting you."
Wanda reached out, gently lifting Aurora's chin so their eyes met. "You could never hurt me, Aurora. I trust you."
Aurora turned away from her. "But I don't trust myself."
Wanda's heart broke at the pain in Aurora's voice. She pulled her into a hug, holding her tightly. "I'm here for you. You don't have to be afraid."
