Wanda's expression shifted from surprise to concern as she listened to Kate on the other end of the line. Aurora, sensing the change in mood, stepped closer, her own worry mounting.

"Kate, slow down," Wanda said, trying to keep her voice calm. "What's going on?"

Aurora hugged herself, anxiously waiting for Wanda's response.

"Mia's uncle is looking for Aurora," Wanda relayed, her eyes locking onto Aurora's. "He doesn't believe that Mia died from a car accident. He thinks there's more to it."

Aurora's face went pale, and she took a step back, her mind racing. "What... What does he want?"

Wanda put a reassuring hand on Aurora's shoulder. "Kate, we'll handle it. Thanks for the heads up."

After a few more exchanged words, Wanda hung up the phone and turned to Aurora. "He can't find out, you know that"

Aurora nodded."I know..."

Wanda pulled Aurora into a tight embrace. "But whatever you choose, I'll be with you and if something happens, I'll be there" Aurora smiled at her. "Thank you".

As they held each other, the tension slowly began to ease. Wanda leaned in and kissed Aurora gently, their lips meeting in a tender exchange that reaffirmed their bond. When they finally parted, Wanda gave Aurora a reassuring smile. "It's going to be okay."

The next day, Aurora found herself on a call with Mia's uncle. She sat at the kitchen table, her phone on speaker. Wanda was by her side, her presence a constant source of strength.

"Mr Monet, I assure you, I had nothing to do with Mia's accident," Aurora said, her voice steady but filled with emotion. "I loved her like family. Losing her has been one of the hardest things I've ever gone through."

There was a long pause on the other end before Mia's uncle spoke. "Aurora, I just want the truth. If there's something more to this, I need to know."

Aurora took a deep breath. "I understand. But I promise you, it was just a tragic accident. There's nothing more to it."

After a tense conversation, Mia's uncle finally seemed to relent. "Alright, Aurora. I'm sorry for doubting you. I just needed to hear it from you..."

Aurora nodded, tears of relief welling up in her eyes. "I understand. Thank you for reaching out."

When the call ended, Wanda pulled Aurora into another hug. "You did great," she whispered, kissing the top of Aurora's head.

Later that day, Wanda received another call from Kate. This time, she stepped outside to take it, leaving Aurora to collect herself.

"Hey, Kate," Wanda greeted, her tone lighter. "What's up?"

"Just checking in," Kate said, her voice curious. "Why do you sound so happy?"

Wanda couldn't help but smile, her thoughts drifting back to Aurora. "Let's just say, things are getting better."

Kate sighed on the other end. "So it was one time thing after all".

Wanda glanced back inside, where Aurora was sitting, looking much more at ease. "Goodbye, Kate"

When Wanda went back inside, Aurora looked up at her, a smile playing on her lips. "Everything okay?"

Wanda nodded, walking over to sit beside her. "Yeah, everything's fine. Just Kate being her usual nosy self."

Aurora chuckled, the sound light and carefree. "I'm glad we have people like her in our lives."

Wanda wrapped an arm around Aurora, pulling her close. "Me too. Now, let's get back to our evening. We deserve some peace."

The silence stretched on, a comfortable and intimate cocoon. After a few moments, Wanda's stomach growled loudly, causing both women to burst into giggles.
