The four finished eating breakfast together. During their meal-time, Ms. Tsukishima mentioned going to the beach later when the sun wasn't too harsh, and Akiteru asked y/n if she'd brought swimwear. Spoiler alert: she didn't.
So that's why Tsukishima was here with her at a local shop by the beach to find some swimsuits. Since he comes every year, he knows the layout of this small town pretty well and what shops are around the area. The bell above the door jingled as it swung open, and once the two entered, they were met with blaring air conditioner and loud rock music. They were greeted by the shop's owner and then the four eyes led y/n to a wall full of swimsuits hanging on racks and mannequins.
Y/n eyed the two mannequins in front of her, which displayed more of the flashier swimsuits, and she gulped, suddenly feeling self-conscious. She tried looking at Tsukishima through her peripheral view, but was no where to be seen. Fully turning around to look for him, it only took her a couple of seconds before she could spot his blonde head peeking above the shelves somewhere among the back of the shop.
Y/n sighed, feeling somewhat relieved that he wasn't there to witness her dilemma of picking a swimsuit. Eventually, she decided on a two piece that wasn't very flashy at all. This was a family trip... for god's sake (she wasn't sure she garnered the confidence to wear something too revealing in front of Tsukishima himself, anyways). Once she turned around again, she caught the boy walking in her direction, holding something in his hand.
"Found something?" He asked.
"Yeah." She said, raising her hand up slightly to show that she already picked out a swimsuit. "What did you find?" She eyed whatever was in his hold.
"Sandals. You only brought sneakers right?" His gaze moved down to her feet.
Y/n's eyes widened. She didn't even think about shoes. The fact that Tsukishima was thinking of her made her chest feel warm. "Yeah." She smiled softly.
Later, at the beach.
The harsh afternoon sun had finally gone down a bit, allowing for a more mellow sun, although it was still hot. It was only about an hour and a half until sunset, so the smell of sunscreen drifted through the air as it was passed between the four people applying it on skin. Y/n turned to Tsukishima as she finished applying the last of hers on her upper arm. "Pfft...."
The blondie noticed her laugh. "What?"
"You... your sunscreen." She giggled. "You look like a ghost."
The tips of his ears reddened and he huffed. "W- Who said I was done rubbing it in?" He begrudgingly rubbed his cheeks to melt the sunscreen better, turning away.
Y/n smiled. He's so cute. She slowly inched her index finger towards his back with concentration, and poked it hard.
"...!" Tsukishima flinched hard, curling his back over and turning his head to glare at her, but she'd already run off towards the water.
"Hot! Hot! The sand is so hooooott!" She yelped as she ran towards the water. As soon as she reached the shore, where the water was shallow enough to only reach her ankles, she exhaled in relief. The burning hot sand that left her feet tender and pulsating shifting to the nice cool temperature of the water was a nice feeling. "Whew..." She closed her eyes, allowing the feeling of the water on her feet push back and forth, listening to the waves crash, and smelling the scent of salty beach seawater. After a couple more seconds, she opened them again after hearing the water behind her splash softly. In front of her, on the ground was a tall shadow, that overlapped her own. Before she could fully turn around, she was met with a hand quickly moving towards her face, and then the feeling of her forehead being flicked, harshly.
