Wanda was sick. Really sick.

It started only a few days ago. She complained to Natasha that she was cold and had a dry cough. To confirm that she was sick, they had taken her temperature that showed she indeed had a fever. Natasha told the rest of the Avengers that Wanda was going to need a few days off of training to recover, even after Wanda protested that she was fine.

That same night, Wanda didn't show up for dinner. This was concerning to all of the Avengers as she was always so excited to try new American foods. Natasha went up to the room that they now shared and saw Wanda curled up under the covers, shivering. She went over to her, running her fingers through her hair before feeling her forehead. She was burning up more than she was before. Natasha sighed as Wanda groaned in discomfort. She opened her eyes.

"Hey," she croaked out.

Natasha smiled at her. "Hey. Still feeling bad?"

"Even worse."

"I'm sorry, baby. Do you want to eat?"

Wanda shook her head no.

"Ok. You'll have to eat later though. After dinner I'll bring up some medicine. Does that sound ok?"

Wanda nodded this time, too weak to speak.

Natasha bent down, kissing her head. "Get some sleep. I'll be back soon." With that, Wanda made herself as comfortable as she could be and fell back asleep.

"Is she doing any better?" Sam asked when Nat came down. She shook her head.

"If anything, I think she's gotten worse. She doesn't even feel like eating."

"Wanda doesn't want to eat? Oh that's bad," Tony remarked.

"I think with medicine and a good night's rest, she should be feeling better in a few days," Steve said.

Natasha sighed. "I hope so."

They were wrong.

It was day two and Wanda had only gotten worse. She'd been up for twenty-four hours because she couldn't sleep. Anytime she tried to, she would just cough and couldn't get comfortable. She had barely eaten anything since she didn't have an appetite and couldn't really swallow anything because of her shallow breathing. She was miserable.

Currently, she and Nat laid in their bed under the covers. Even though Wanda had Nat's shirt on and one of her sweatshirts over it, she was freezing. She couldn't get warm enough. She couldn't help but start crying because of the discomfort and pain she was feeling. Nat turned to her when she felt tear drops soak her shirt.

"Wands, baby, what's wrong?" She asked, pulling her girlfriend closer and kissing her head.

"It hurts."

"What hurts, baby?"

Wanda pointed to her head and then her chest before coughing. Her cough sounded horrible. It left her chest in excruciating pain and barely any room to breathe. Nat sat them up when Wanda started wheezing. She rubbed her back in hopes to calm her down as tears continued to pour down her face.

A few minutes later, Wanda's coughing settled down, leaving her breathless.

"Hey Wanda," Natasha said, gathering her girlfriend's attention, "I know it's hard, but I need you to stop crying. It won't help with your wheezing. Let's take some deep breaths."

Nat guided her through breathing exercises, something they did often whenever one of them had a panic attack. Wanda rests her head on Nat's shoulder, feeling utterly exhausted.
