Scarlett sighed as she poured some frosted flakes into a bowl. She didn't have any energy to do more than that. It had been almost three weeks since she last saw her girlfriend, and she was feeling the effects from it. Lizzie was currently filming a movie in New York, all the way on the other side of the country from Scarlett, and she missed her like crazy.
Part of her felt so pathetic for feeling so depressed for the past few weeks, but she hadn't felt this lonely since her divorce. Chris Evans had been checking up on her, but she didn't have the energy to actually open her messages. She hadn't had the energy to really do anything. She hadn't been eating well, she stayed in bed all day, and she had just only found the strength to shower for the first time that week. Thankfully, she had only a week until Lizzie came back, and she found herself counting each hour that passed.
She put the milk back into the fridge and made her way to the living room. She turned on a random channel on the TV even though she wasn't listening to it. Before she knew it, she tasted salty tears in the mix of the cornflakes. She put down her spoon, and the tears began flowing faster. With all the strength she had left, she lifted herself off the couch and put the bowl into the sink, going to her and Lizzie's bedroom. Scarlett laid on the bed, curling into herself as she cuddled the stuffed bear Lizzie had gotten her, and cried herself to sleep.
Lizzie's POV:
I was practically jumping in my seat on the plane, finally flying back to California. We finished filming earlier than expected, meaning I got to see my love a week early.
I knew this trip would be hard for her. It was our first time being apart for so long, and with everything happening, she had to have been having a rough time. I called Chris before I left to ask if he could check in on Scarlett. He texted me back a week after I left, saying that she had not responded to any of his texts. Even I noticed she didn't respond to my 'good morning' or 'good night' texts. I just tried to focus on the now. I was going home and I would get to see her beautiful face in only a couple of hours.

After five hours, I had finally landed. I called a driver to drop me off at the store. Thankfully, I already had a place in New York, so I didn't have to carry much luggage around now as I walked into a shop.
I looked around, picking out Scarlett's favorite candy (gummy worms, airheads, and reeses), and a bouquet of daisy flowers that I knew she would love before heading over to her favorite Italian restaurant. With my bags and luggage, I started walking to our house.
When I entered, I called out Scarlett's name, but got no answer. I set my bags down and our food onto the kitchen hour before finding a vase to put the flowers in. I then walked around the house, looking for my girlfriend. I walked into our room, and the sight melted my heart.
Scarlett was curled up in a ball on our bed, dressed in my clothes, and holding the bear I got her. She was fast asleep and looked adorable. However, I frowned as I got closer and noticed the tear stains on her face. I gently reached out and caressed her cheek, causing her to snuggle into my hand despite her being unconscious. I smiled and moved down to kiss her head.
"Scarlett," I whispered, still rubbing her face. "Scar, wake up. I'm home."
"Hm?" Scarlett began to wake up, squinting her eyes up at me. "Lizzie?"
"Hi, sweet girl," I smiled at her. Her face crumpled before she launched herself into my arms. I secured my arms around her as she wrapped herself around my front. I felt tears fall into my neck, and I held her tighter. "It's ok. I'm here now. It's ok."
"I missed you so much," she cried into my neck.
"I missed you too, Scar. What's with the tears, baby?" I asked as she pulled back.
"I'm sorry. It was just really hard without you," she said, looking down.
"I know. I feel so bad I had to leave for so long. But I'm here now, and I'm not letting you go anytime soon."
"How are you back? You still had a week left."
"Magic, baby," I said, bumping my nose softly against hers.
"Whatever it was, I'm so happy to be in your arms again," she whispered against my lips, and closed the distance for the first time in three weeks. It felt amazing to be back with the woman I love most. I smiled into the kiss, feeling Scarlett do the same. We were interrupted by Scarlett's stomach.
"Baby, have you been eating?" I asked with a concerned voice. She hid her face on my shoulder. That provided me with an answer. I sighed.
"Please don't be mad at me. I didn't really have the energy to do anything- not even open my phone-"
"I'm not mad at you, my love. I'm just concerned. I want you to be healthy. But I'm not angry. Never at you." I told her, feeling her place a kiss against my neck. "I did get your favorite pasta from your favorite restaurant on the way back."
She removed her face from my shoulder, grinning and pecking my cheek.
"Do you want that?" I questioned, making her nod eagerly.
"Can you carry me to the kitchen? I want to feel your touch," she asked shyly.
"Of course, my love. I wouldn't have it any other way."
I carried her to the kitchen, noting that she felt lighter than she had before I left. I plated our food and sat us down on the bench at our dining table, Scarlett on my lap. We ate while I talked about my time in New York. She lit up at my voice, and I couldn't help but laugh and squeeze her side.
Once we finished, I instructed Scarlett to pick out a movie while I put the dishes away and took a shower myself. I noticed that she looked down.
"What's wrong, my love?" I asked, lifting up her chin and tracing her bottom lip.
"Can we- could we shower together?"
"Of course," I said with a kiss on her head. I held my hand out for her to take.
We made our way into the shower with no words. We held each other under the water before I helped wash her hair and body, her doing the same for me. There were gentle kisses shared, and everything was divine. We stepped out, and did our nightly routine along with getting dressed.
Scarlett picked out a movie for us before opening her arms. I quickly snuggled into her embrace, longing for the feeling of being held by her. We didn't watch the movie as we were too distracted by each other's kisses, cuddles, and feeding each other candy. It wasn't long before Scarlett fell into a much-needed sleep.
"I love you so much, Scarlett," I whispered, touching the small features of her face before falling asleep myself.
