Kayli couldn't stomach seeing Trevon at the moment. Everything felt too overwhelming, too real. As she lay in bed, trying to calm her racing thoughts, her phone rang. It was Detective Diaz.

She took a deep breath before answering. "Hello?"

"Hi Kayli, it's Detective Diaz," the voice on the other end said, sounding professional yet compassionate. "I wanted to let you know that the restraining order has been submitted and granted. Ezra is now legally required to stay away from you."

Kayli closed her eyes, feeling a mixture of relief and anxiety. "Thank you, Detective. That's... that's good to hear."

"I know this process has been difficult," Detective Diaz continued, "but you've done the right thing. If you need anything else, don't hesitate to reach out."

"Thank you," Kayli repeated, her voice trembling slightly. "I appreciate your help."

After hanging up, Kayli sat in silence for a moment, the weight of the situation settling over her. The restraining order was a step toward her safety, but it also made everything feel more real and immediate. The fear and trauma of her past relationship with Ezra loomed large in her mind, and she struggled to find a sense of peace.

Her thoughts drifted to Trevon, the person who had been her rock through so much of this. She knew she needed to talk to him, to explain everything, but the fear of dragging him into her chaos made her hesitate. She was afraid of losing him, of him seeing her as broken and damaged.

Kayli laid in bed, her mind swirling with thoughts and emotions. She knew she needed to reach out to Trevon, but the weight of everything felt too overwhelming. She stared at her phone, the screen glaring back at her. She wanted to call him, to hear his reassuring voice, but she just couldn't bring herself to do it. The guilt and fear paralyzed her.

She felt a deep sense of sadness and regret for pushing away the one person she needed most. Trevon had been there for her through so much, and now, when she needed him the most, she couldn't bring herself to reach out. The shame of her own helplessness made her feel even more isolated.

As she lay there, tears started to stream down her face. She hugged her pillow tightly, wishing she could find the strength to call him. The thought of Trevon's disappointed face haunted her, and she felt like she was failing him.

After what felt like hours of inner turmoil, her phone buzzed from an incoming phone call. She picked it up, hoping it was from Trevon, but it was from Miracle.

"Hey Kayli, just checking in. How are you holding up?"

"Not great. I got the restraining order, but everything feels too real. I can't even bring myself to call Trevon. I feel terrible."

Miracle's responded quick. "I'm so sorry you're feeling this way. It's okay to be scared. Do you want me to come over?"

Kayli felt a small sense of relief at her friend's offer. "Yes, please. I could use some company."

Within half an hour, Miracle arrived. She walked into Kayli's bedroom and immediately enveloped her in a warm hug. "You're not alone, Kayli. I'm here for you."

Kayli clung to Miracle, sobbing into her shoulder. "I don't know what to do. I feel so lost and scared."

Miracle rubbed her back soothingly. "It's okay to feel that way. You've been through so much. But you don't have to go through this alone. Trevon cares about you deeply, and he'll understand if you need time."

Kayli pulled back, wiping her tears. "I know he will, but I feel like I'm failing him by not reaching out."

Miracle shook her head. "You're not failing him. You're dealing with a lot, and it's okay to take things at your own pace. Maybe I can call him for you and let him know what's going on?"
