At 30 weeks pregnant, Kayli's appointments were starting to feel more real with each passing visit. The closer she got to her due date, the more the reality of bringing their daughter into the world hit her.

She and Trevon had been working on rebuilding their relationship, and today, for the first time in a long time, they were on the same page about their future. Today was a big day—not just because of the baby, but because they would be discussing Kayli's birth plan.

As they walked into the doctor's office, Kayli felt a wave of excitement and nerves. Trevon was right by her side, holding her hand, his presence comforting. The cold December air still clung to their coats as they checked in and took a seat in the waiting room. Trevon glanced at her, squeezing her hand lightly.

"You good?" he asked, his voice soft but steady.

Kayli nodded, a small smile playing on her lips. "Yeah, just a little nervous. It's crazy that we're already talking about the birth plan. Feels like it's all happening so fast."

Trevon chuckled. "For real. It's wild. But we gon' be ready. We got this."

A few minutes later, the nurse called them back, and they followed her into the exam room. Kayli settled onto the table, and Trevon took a seat beside her, his hand still resting on hers. They had already discussed a lot about the baby in the past few weeks—her name, their plans for the future—but now it was time to talk about how their daughter would be brought into the world.

The doctor came in with a warm smile, her clipboard in hand. "How are we feeling today, Kayli?" she asked, her tone upbeat.

Kayli smiled nervously. "I'm good, just getting more excited and nervous as we get closer to the due date."

The doctor nodded. "That's completely normal. You're entering the final stretch now, so it's time to start thinking about your birth plan. Have you given it any thought?"

Kayli glanced at Trevon before looking back at the doctor. "Yeah, I've thought about it a lot. I'm thinking I want to try a water birth," she said, her voice steady but a little uncertain, waiting for the doctor's reaction.

The doctor smiled encouragingly. "A water birth is a great option, especially if you're looking for a more natural experience. It's known for helping with relaxation and pain management during labor. Have you considered where you'd like to have the birth? At home or in a birthing center?"

Kayli nodded. "I've been leaning toward a birthing center. I want the option to be in water, but I also want to know I'm in a place with professionals nearby, just in case."

Trevon sat up a little straighter, chiming in. "Yeah, we wanna make sure it's safe, you know? But I'm all for the water birth if that's what she wants. Whatever makes it easier for her."

The doctor smiled at both of them, nodding. "That's a good plan. A birthing center is a great middle ground. We'll make sure to go over all your options and prepare for everything so you feel comfortable and supported."

Kayli felt a wave of relief. "Thank you. I just want to make sure it's as peaceful as possible, you know?"

The doctor made a few notes on her clipboard. "Absolutely. We'll work with you every step of the way. Now, let's take a look at the baby, shall we? How does a 4D ultrasound sound today?"

Kayli's face lit up at the mention of the ultrasound, and Trevon's eyes widened in excitement. "4D?" he asked, grinning. "We get to see her for real this time, huh?"

The doctor chuckled, nodding. "Exactly. We'll get a much clearer view of your little one today."

As the nurse prepped Kayli for the ultrasound, the anticipation built in the room. Trevon shifted in his seat, his eyes glued to the screen even before the image appeared. When the gel was applied to Kayli's belly, and the doctor began moving the wand, the room went quiet as they waited for their first real glimpse of their daughter.
