Kayli's alarm buzzed insistently, pulling her from a deep sleep. She blinked her eyes open and glanced at the clock. It was 6:00 AM, the start of a new chapter in her life. Today was her first day of classes.

She stretched and sat up, the excitement and nerves mingling in her stomach. Determined to start the day on a positive note, she got out of bed and headed to the bathroom. A quick, refreshing shower helped wake her up, and she emerged feeling refreshed and ready.

Kayli dressed carefully, choosing a comfortable yet stylish outfit that made her feel confident. She took extra care with her hair, styling it in loose waves, and applied a bit of makeup to enhance her natural features.

Downstairs, she prepared a healthy breakfast: a smoothie packed with fruits, spinach, and a scoop of protein powder.

As she sipped it, she reviewed her schedule for the day, ensuring she knew exactly where her classes were located. She had Introduction to Psychology first, followed by her Creative Writing elective.

With her bag packed and her laptop charged, Kayli stepped outside into the crisp morning air. The drive to campus was peaceful, giving her time to mentally prepare for the day ahead.

She arrived early, parking in a spot close to her first class. As she walked across the campus, she took in the sights and sounds of students bustling around. She found the psychology building and took a deep breath before entering.

Kayli settled into her seat in Dr. Morgan's Introduction to Psychology class, her heart beating a little faster with excitement and nerves. She pulled out her notebook and pens, arranging them neatly on her desk.

The room filled quickly with students, all chatting animatedly as they found their spots. The clock ticked closer to 8:00 AM, and Dr. Morgan, a tall woman with curly brown hair and a warm smile, stood at the front of the room, ready to begin.

"Good morning, everyone! Welcome to Introduction to Psychology," Dr. Morgan began, her voice carrying a confident yet inviting tone. "I'm Dr. Morgan, and I'm thrilled to have you all here. Let's start by getting to know each other. When I call your name, please stand up, tell us your major, and something interesting about yourself."

One by one, the students introduced themselves. Kayli learned that there were a variety of majors in the room: nursing, business, education, and, like herself, psychology. There were also a few undecided students exploring their options. When it was her turn, she stood up with a mix of nerves and excitement.

"Hi, I'm Kayli Stevens. I'm majoring in psychology, and I'm really passionate about understanding human behavior. Something interesting about me is that I recently decided to come back to school after taking some time off, and I'm really excited to be here."

Dr. Morgan nodded approvingly. "Welcome, Kayli. We're glad to have you."

After the introductions, Dr. Morgan distributed the syllabus. "Now, let's go over the syllabus together," she said, passing out the document to each student. "This will give you an overview of what to expect this semester, including our topics, reading assignments, exams, and projects."

Kayli skimmed the syllabus as Dr. Morgan spoke, noting the various units they would cover: the history of psychology, research methods, biological bases of behavior, sensation and perception, learning, memory, and more. The schedule was well-organized, with clear deadlines for assignments and exams.

"One of the key components of this course is the group project," Dr. Morgan continued. "You'll be working in pairs to research a specific topic in psychology, present your findings to the class, and write a collaborative report. This will help you develop teamwork skills and deepen your understanding of the subject."
