"Naku, naku. Ang saya mo na naman bakla ha," Danny teased his cousin again after Jane drove him to her house.

"Kaklase ko sya," she smiled. "Na-bad trip pako na my schedule changed kasi who wants to read a book right after lunch? Kaantok kaya. Alam mo naman ako," she told him.

"Oh my, you got in sa AP Eng? Congrats, cuzzo!" He grinned at her.

"Gaga. Anong congrats dun? Eh that means more work for me," she complained.

"Ano ba? That's going to help with your college application. See. Sabi ko sayo you can do it eh." He was genuinely proud of her.

"Chalamat. I know I shouldn't complain kasi nga ang bait sakin ni Lord. Not only did I make it to two AP classes on my last year of high school, but He also put Nella on one of those classes. I get to experience na maging classmate sya bago matapos yung taon. I mean there's a possibility na naging kaklase ko na sya noon, pero grabe naman kasi yung hindi ko talaga naalala." Disappointment took over her facial expression.

"Aba, meant to be na meant to be talaga ah. And who cares? Past is past nga, diba? Sabi mo nga at least nabigyan ka ng chance na maging kaklase sya na aware ka na she exists," Danny commented.

"Grabe naman yung pagkakasabi nya oh. Para namang ang sama-sama kong tao. I feel bad na nga eh," she sighed.

The next day, Jane scanned the locker area for a certain familiar face. She checked the time and saw she had a little over half an hour before school starts. She came extra early to school that day for a reason.

"Waiting for someone?" A voice said from behind which startled her.

"Oh my gosh, Nella. You scared me," Jane held her chest and sighed in relief when she realized who it was.

"Good morning," Nella greeted. "Ang aga mo yata ngayon."

Jane giggled a little. "Good morning. Although I'm not proud to admit na hindi ko first time na ma-detention sa pinaka-unang araw ng school year, I don't want to break my streak na hindi pako nadedetention ulit since then. Usually nakaka-dalawa nako sa first week ko pa lang eh," she explained feeling a bit embarrassed so she made a peace sign with her hand in front of Nella.

"What? Really? Ano naman pinaggagagawa mo to land you in detention that often na sa unang week pa lang ng school nakaka-at least dalawa ka na kaagad?" Nella asked in disbelief.

"Huy, it gets better naman over time. May times naman na weeks if not months ako hindi nadedetention. Eto lang talagang first week of school ang mahirap. Alam mo na. Nag-aadjust pa yung body clock ko. Hindi na kasi ako sanay ng gumigising ng pagka-aga-aga. Not to mention, dagdag responsibilities. Alam mo yun? Parang gusto ko na lang mag-trabaho kesa be in school eh. At least I'm earning money para sa mga efforts ko," Jane wrinkled her nose and sighed.

"Time management lang kelangan mo dyan," Nella replied. "Ako, ang nakakatulong sakin is when I write down sa planner ko when things  are due tapos i-lilista ko bawat araw what I need to do or try to accomplish. I make a list every single day para I can check off what I've done. That way, I can either push things off for tomorrow yung mga hindi ko magawa today or do some of the things I need to do for tomorrow today para mabawasan load ko the next day. Gets moko?" She tried to explain to her.

"I think you lost me. That's a whole lot of writing na I have to do every day para lang sa pag-organize ng time ko na feeling ko wala akong energy gawin," Jane answered truthfully.

"I can help you if you want," Nella offered. "What does your schedule look like ba on a typical week?"

Jane tried to think. "Um, pa-iba iba eh. Depende," she replied.
