Since then, Jane and Nella became inseparable. They did everything together and spent as much time as they could with each other. Jane helped Nella become more involved in school while Nella acted as Jane's tutor. Their partnership was perfect. Jane, a social butterfly helped the very elusive Nella to put herself out there more, while the intelligent, Nella, guided Jane with her academics.

When fall season started, Nella noticed Jane in deep thought while they were seated on the carpet floor in her bedroom.
"Huy, anong iniisip mo dyan?" She tried to get her attention.

"Are you going to homecoming?" Jane blurted out of nowhere which shocked Nella.

"Ha? Homecoming? As in the game or the dance?" Nella asked while trying not to sound too surprised by Jane's random question.

"Both," Jane replied.

"Eh," Nella hesitated. "I have a feeling you're going to say that I should go."

Jane snickered. "You should."

"Kita mo na," Nella shook her head.

"Come on, vaNella. It would be fun. I'm pretty sure this is going to be your first homecoming dance sa buong high school life mo which means this is also going to be your last kasi ga-graduate na tayo," Jane slumped her shoulders and whined.

Nella laid on the carpet and stared at the ceiling. "I don't dance."

"Eh bakit ako ba sumasayaw?" Jane pointed out.

Nella whined this time. "But you have more experience than me. Actually, I have zero experience."

"Eh yun na nga eh. Let's turn that zero experience into one homecoming dance you will never forget," Jane grinned.

"Yang mga ideas mo talaga," Nella sighed, but she had on a smile.

"Diba? Ang saya kaya nun," Jane said with excitement.

"Hindi nga kasi ako sumasayaw," Nella complained.

"Sus, hindi naman mandatory to be on the dance floor, ano ka ba? It's not like the teachers are going to come to you and say, 'hey Nella, why aren't you dancing? Go to the dancefloor right this second or I'll give you detention," Jane mimicked the principal with his raspy voice.

"Baliw," Nella burst into laughter.

"See. Kung ayaw mo sumayaw, edi maki-halubilo ka na lang sa mga schoolmate natin. Panoorin mo silang sumayaw habang nag-eenjoy ka free catering," Jane bobbed her eyebrows up and down.

"Eh pano nga kung ayaw kong makihalubilo and I have no desire to watch people dance akwardly with each other? We're talking about highschoolers, PB. Who wants to watch a bunch of rowdy and clumsy teenagers dance? Kung Jabbawockeez pa yung nasa dance floor, ay naku, you won't need to convince me. Ako pa ang mag-yayaya sayo pumunta," Nella pointed out which made Jane laugh out loud.

"Sa private high school pa siguro afford nilang i-hire yung Jabbawockeez," Jane chuckled. "'Wag na tayong mag-hanap ng wala. Focus tayo sa kung anong meron tayo. We have the gym, the rowdy/clumsy schoolmates, and probably a DJ na baguhan pa lang. But we'll also have each other. So ano? Sasama ka ba o hindi?

Nella was convinced the moment Jane put herself into the picture. "For you, fine, sasama ako. When did you steer me wrong naman, diba?"

Jane's eyes disappeared from smiling. "Ayown," she said excitedly. "Yes!" She exclaimed, proud of herself for convincing probably the most introvert student in school to go to homecoming.

"Last na punta ko was freshman year. I just wanted to experience it. Pagkatapos hindi nako umulit. Hindi rin naman kasi ako mahilig sa mga school dance na yan eh. Although, gusto kong pumunta ng prom," Jane told her.
