"You look good," Aarna says over the video call. But I don't say anything anticipation making me anxious.
" Do you know what he told me last night? " I say sitting on the bed in my dad's home.
" He tells you something at night. Quite interesting. " She laughs.
" It's not funny. He told me to stay away from his family especially his sister Shivanya. " I say almost disappointed.
" You are just being bipolar. " She says.
" Do you want Madhav to meet Aunty or Uncle? " She asks.
" Of course not," I say too fast.
" Now. You don't even want your parents to even see him and you are practically friends with her sister and his mother was gushing on you already. He is right in his place. " She says the truth without any filter.
" You don't want to be near him yet you are going to his brother-in-law's birthday party. I don't know what you are doing and I don't think you either. You can't exactly be with his sister and go to his home. HIS HOME. And think you can avoid him. He isn't coming to you, you are going to him." She says angrily.
I know she is just trying to protect Me. And she is absolutely right. I don't want Madhav to meet my parents.
" Now you are just being a little overprotective. " I say trying to calm her down.
" No, I just don't want you to fall for him. Again. Knowing you are already in love with him. He isn't the same now that you said all the wrong things to him. And I don't want you to get hurt in the process. " She says losing her fighting spirit.
I know she is right I can't be around him and think we can just ignore each other. When I can still feel that electricity between us.
