I chose an elegant off-shoulder blue gown that flowed gracefully to the floor.
"Elegant," I mumbled as I looked at myself in the mirror. The off-shoulder blue gown fit perfectly, highlighting my figure with a touch of sophistication. Yet, despite my outward appearance, I felt a sense of discomfort. Maybe he was the reason.
"We're done!" Dia and Aadhya yelled, coming out of their room. I snapped my head towards them and was astonished when I saw them.
Dia looked stunning in her classic maxi dress. The high neckline and long sleeves, adorned with delicate lace, added a touch of elegance. The light pastel color of the dress complemented her complexion beautifully, making her look like she had stepped out of a fairy tale
Aadhya, on the other hand, was a vision of glamour in her sequin gown. The deep, shimmering gold dress caught the light with every movement, making her sparkle.
"You both are looking ..." I halted my words to see their reaction.
"Why'd you stop? Continue, aren't we looking good?" Aadhya asked, giving me a playful look. I nodded my head in response, and the smiles on their faces faded for a second.
"Stupendous," I finally complimented them, smiling sheepishly. Their grins returned, even brighter than before.
"You too, my dear friend," Dia said, giving me a side hug. "You look like a bride, but the difference is your gown's color." I blushed at her words, feeling a warmth spread through me. I had to admit, I was flattered by her compliment. They laughed at my reaction, and despite my earlier discomfort, I couldn't help but join in.
"Seriously, you both outdid yourselves," I said, genuinely admiring their outfits.
"And you, in that blue gown, are stunning," Aadhya replied, her eyes twinkling. "You're going to turn heads tonight."
"Thank you," I said, still blushing. "But let's not keep the bride and groom waiting."
With a final look in the mirror and a deep breath, we headed out, ready to celebrate Advik and Myra's special day.
The three of us made our way to the wedding, the festive atmosphere buzzing around us. The venue was beautifully decorated, with fairy lights twinkling and flowers adorning every corner. As we walked through the crowd, my eyes scanned the room, searching for Aaron. Finally, I spotted him, but he was with Ric.
A sense of unease washed over me. "Let's sit somewhere else," I said abruptly, clutching Dia and Aadhya's hands and starting to drag them in the opposite direction
"Saakshi, what happened?" Aadhya queried, looking puzzled.
"Nothing... Umm..." I fumbled for a proper reason, my mind racing. "Look there, this place isn't enough for us," I made a silly excuse, trying to avoid the real reason for my discomfort.
Dia and Aadhya exchanged confused glances but didn't question me further. As we turned to move away, I heard Aaron's voice calling out.
"Spooky girl, you're mistaken. We have enough space for you. Come and sit," Aaron said with a playful smile.
I scolded him under my breath, feeling my cheeks flush. There was no escape now. Reluctantly, we walked over and took seats beside Aaron and Ric.
Aaron greeted us warmly, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "You all look amazing" he complimented, making my heart flutter a little despite my earlier apprehension
"I never imagined that she would be the first person among all of us to get married," Aaron reflected wistfully, The sentiment behind his words was clear to me, resonating deeply with our shared history.
