I was about to leave, but my dad said, "If you step out of this house, you'll see my dead body." He tried to tame me with his threat."You think you can subdue me like this?" I scoffed.
"Choose between us: her or your family," he warned me.
"She's the one who wiped away my tears and brought me out of my dark world, which was full of worries and sadness. She stood beside me when I was in need," I replied, hoping he would change his decision. But deep down, I knew this confrontation was far from over.
But he didn't give up. His relentless attitude was wearing me down, and I was fed up. Without thinking much, I said, "I can't let an innocent life live without a father. I'll choose my unborn child over you, Dad. And for your kind information, I'm married to her. She is my wife!" My words burst out with a mix of fear and defiance, the tension in the room palpable. I couldn't bear the thought of choosing between my parents and Saakshi; I loved both deeply. Desperate to compel everyone to accept my marriage, I resorted to a lie about Saakshi being pregnant, although in reality, she wasn't expecting.
Their reactions were immediate and intense. My mother's face paled, her eyes widening in shock. My father's expression hardened, his jaw tightening as he absorbed my declaration. Silence settled heavily between us, broken only by the sound of my breathing and the weight of what I had just revealed.
"You... you're married? And she's pregnant?" My mother's voice trembled as she struggled to comprehend the sudden revelation.
"Yes," I affirmed, trying to maintain my composure despite the turmoil inside me. "Saakshi is my wife, and we are expecting a child. I couldn't keep it from you any longer."
My father remained stoic, his silence speaking volumes. He finally spoke, his voice low and controlled, yet laced with unmistakable disappointment. "Why didn't you tell us earlier? Do you realize what you've done?"
"I wanted to tell you, but I knew you wouldn't approve," I admitted, my voice cracking with emotion. "I was planning to wait until after graduation, but circumstances forced my hand. I love Saakshi, and I couldn't continue hiding our marriage."
My mother's eyes filled with tears, her voice breaking as she struggled to make sense of the situation. "We raised you, sacrificed for you... How could you deceive us like this?"
"I never meant to deceive you," I replied, my heart heavy with guilt. "I was afraid of losing your love and support. But Saakshi meant everything to me, and I couldn't bear to keep her hidden any longer. She has brought me happiness and love that I never thought possible."
There was a long, tense silence as my parents processed my words. I could see the conflict in their eyes, disappointment, and confusion, but also a glimmer of understanding. This was not how they had envisioned my future, but they were grappling with the reality of my choices.
"Abort her" my mother scowled. I thought they'd change how they could be so cruel towards an innocent life then I realized my parents would go to any extent to set me apart from her.
"How can I kill my unborn child? I can't do this; I have a conscience too. I'm not a cruel person like you, mom, towards their child." This pricked her; tears welled up in her eyes, but she managed to hide. I hoped she'd change for good from this day... They tried to pursue me but I didn't let them win so they gave up and agreed to my marriage because of Ryan's words he said their fame would deteriorate if someone knew about Saakshi's conception with my child
After the tense confrontation with my parents, I sought solace with Saakshi, needing to confide in her about everything that had unfolded. As we sat together, I recounted the events, watching as her expression shifted from concern to disbelief when she heard about my fabricated claim.
"How did you say I conceived?" Saakshi asked incredulously, her voice laced with confusion
"I didn't know what else to say to them. They were pressuring me so much," I explained, my voice tinged with frustration. I knew lying wasn't the best approach, but at the moment, I felt cornered and desperate for their acceptance
Saakshi's initial shock turned into relief as she realized the truth. "I'm glad you clarified it to me," she murmured, her eyes softening with understanding. She knew the extent of the pressure I faced from my parents and sympathized with my attempt to ease the situation.
I tried to lighten the mood with a playful tease. "Don't tell me you're pregnant," I joked, attempting to bring some levity to the heavy atmosphere. However, my attempt at humor didn't quite land as expected.
Saakshi's reaction was immediate and defensive. "No, I'm not! How could you even think that?" she replied, her tone tinged with mild offense.
Realizing my mistake, I quickly reassured her, "Hey, calm down. I was just joking. Sorry if it came across differently." I gently patted her shoulder and caressed her cheek affectionately, hoping to soothe any unintended hurt.
Our conversation then turned to the deeper issue at hand—our families' reluctance to accept our marriage wholeheartedly. Despite our love for each other and our commitment to each other's happiness, the lack of parental approval cast a shadow over our relationship. It felt as though we were navigating our marital journey without the support and blessing we had hoped for, which weighed heavily on both of us.
As we sat together, holding hands and sharing unspoken fears and hopes, I silently prayed that one day our families would come to understand and accept our love, allowing us to forge a future together free from the shadows of doubt and disapproval.
Haha ....Nice joke though
But considering Saakshi's reaction.....Is she pregnant? 🤔 🤔 🤔
