------------

After a few days, Ric got into a fight with his father and was injured severely. He was admitted to the hospital 2 days passed, and he was still unconscious.

Saakshi had been through ten long days and nights of worry and anxiety as Ric lay unconscious in the hospital bed. Her days were spent by his side, praying for his recovery, while her nights were filled with tears and unanswered questions. When Ric finally regained consciousness, a mix of relief and lingering anguish washed over her.

Saakshi sat beside Ric, holding his hand tightly as he slowly opened his eyes. She couldn't help but cry tears of relief. "Ric, thank God you're awake," she said, her voice trembling with emotion.

Ric managed a weak smile, his gaze focusing on Saakshi's face. "I'm sorry you had to go through this, Saakshi," he murmured, his voice hoarse from days of disuse.

"Don't apologize," Saakshi replied quickly, brushing his hair gently. "I was just so scared. I thought I might lose you."

Ric reached out to wipe away her tears. "I'm here now. I'm going to be okay," he assured her, his voice filled with reassurance despite the pain he was in.

Once the doctor confirmed that Ric was out of immediate danger but needed time to recover fully, Saakshi couldn't hold back her emotions any longer. She hugged Ric tightly, burying her face in his chest. "Did you even think about Ana and me before getting into that fight?" she asked, her voice breaking with the weight of her worry.

Ric winced, not just from physical pain but from the guilt that weighed heavily on his heart. "Saakshi, I... I know it was reckless," he began, struggling to find the right words. "But he's still my father. Despite everything..."

Saakshi pulled away slightly, her eyes searching his face. "Your father doesn't care about you, Ric. Why do you care so much about him?" she pleaded, her frustration evident.

Ric sighed deeply, his brow furrowing with conflicting emotions. "I can't explain it, Saakshi. He's my dad. Even if he doesn't show it, I still feel responsible for him," he admitted, his voice tinged with sadness.

"But what about us? What about Ana?" Saakshi pressed her concern for their family to be palpable.

Ric took her hands in his, his touch gentle yet firm. "I promise, Saakshi, I'll be more careful. I'll think about us first," he vowed earnestly, his eyes locking with hers.

Saakshi nodded, her heart heavy but understanding. "I just want you to be safe, Ric. For all of us," she murmured, leaning her head against his shoulder.

They stayed like that for a while, finding solace in each other's presence amidst the uncertainty of the future. Ric's recovery would take time, but in that moment, they both knew they would face it together, navigating the challenges as a family bound by love and resilience

Saakshi couldn't stop the tears from flowing as she sat alone, consumed by guilt and sorrow. The loss of their unborn child weighed heavily on her heart, and she berated herself for what she saw as her negligence. "How could I be so stupid?" she muttered through her tears, feeling the weight of what she considered to be a grave mistake.

When Saakshi finally visited Ric in the hospital, she tried to put on a brave face, but he could see right through her facade. "Is everything alright?" he asked with concern, sensing her distress despite her attempt to hide it.
