The words stabbed his ears at the same time his heart ached at the loss of his water and the biggest part of him wanted to cry and run away as wide eyes stayed frozen on his not even blinking after too many seconds for it to be normal.
The boy's jaw slackened as the seconds ticked away until he snapped his jaw shut looking down through the window and it didn't take long before the tension filled silence snapped when the boy opened his mouth the same time another face appeared through the small window.
"Can...can you hear me?" The words echoed in his head as his eyes shifted to the other boy who had dark wavy black hair fluffed out on his head with dark eyes and with his mouth wide open in shock.
It made him want to hide away from the gazes but there was still no way out or to stop being the centre of their attention. He kept his eyes focused on the both of them as he heard the new boy mutter high pitched words under his breath that he could only identify as shock as he tried to secretly nudge the other boy with his arm but that only made him break out of the silence and it was the same for the boys as the one that appeared broke out in rambling words.
"Mr Cha has a child?! That...that makes no sense! Why are you never outside? Does it mean there is a Mrs Cha that we haven't seen before? Do you live down here-"
His words and the smile that looked rectangular faded slowly as the boy looked around the dark room with his expression twisting into something in between a confused and sad expression with a slight twinge of fear mixed into it.
He missed the meaning between the twin looks both boys expressed as they turned to each other and he had to stop himself from shaking when it looked like they were communicating just by their faces and it meant that whatever they decided it would mean he had the chance to be revealed in just a matter of seconds.
"We...we mean no harm we promise. Sorry if we scared you and we shouldn't have intruded...my name is Jimin by the way" The boy who spoke gave a small sparkly smile as his eyes curved into cresents as his cheeks bunched up.
"My name is Taehyung, I'm Jimin's twin brother and we live next door. Sorry if I overwhelmed you, my hyungs say I have a problem with behaving like a over excited puppy" The boy with the rectangular smile let out a small laugh and something about the boys looked so....soft.
He stared at them with his eyes unblinking and the wheels slowly turning in his head as a strange urge in his chest wanted to do something so illogical to his mind that it revolted at the thought but they seemed so harmless and they also looked so honest.
He would regret it....the moment he responded he would regret it and his father....
His father would never know?
The muscles in his neck ached as he slowly shook his head and both bohs perked up at the action before Jimin looked at him with a tilted head and a small sad smile.
"Does that mean you want us to leave?" He had to blink a few times at the question and the first answer thought that popped up in his mind was no but then his mind brought more reasoning in wondering if they would actually leave if he asked them to. He frowned at the thought but the two brothers thought it was his answer to leave him so Jimin moved away from the window and Taehyung followed with hesitant eyes.
"Okay then we will leave if you want us too. It was nice to meet you-" His eyes went wide and it was like the universe decided to show him the right answer as he shook his head furiously with his arms finally unlocking in his desperation that hit him out of nowhere and his hands came into the light as they shook trying to stop them. It seemed to be the right action since both Jimin and Taehyung stopped retreating and like they were mirroring each other's actions they looked at him with raised eyebrows and the sunlight peeking through behind them somehow made their eyes light up more when they turned to each other.
