Michaella sat at her desk, the glow of her laptop illuminating the dimly lit room. She stared at the blinking cursor on the screen, her fingers hovering over the keyboard. Her novel lay open beside her, the pages filled with raw emotion and untold stories.
Excerpt from Michaella's Novel:
"I knew something was wrong the moment he called. His name flashed on my screen, and without a second thought, I answered. Gabrielle's face appeared, his expression stoic and unreadable. But his eyes... his eyes betrayed the pain he was trying so hard to conceal.
'Gabrielle?' I said softly, my heart skipping a beat as I saw the tear that escaped his eye.
He didn't speak at first, his silence echoing through the screen. Then, in a voice choked with emotion, he uttered the words that shattered my world.
'We... we broke up, me and Emily.'
My heart clenched at his words. Despite everything, despite the distance and the unspoken truths between us, I couldn't bear to see him hurting.
'What's going on?' I asked, my voice trembling. I knew him too well, knew the weight of his tears, knew the depth of his pain.
'I don't know what to do, Michaella,' he confessed, his voice barely above a whisper. 'I thought... I thought she was the one.'
I struggled to find the right words, my mind racing with memories of our shared past, of the love that still lingered between us.
'Everything will be okay,' I reassured him, my own tears threatening to fall. 'If you still love her, apologize to her. Send her flowers. Show her how much she means to you.'
Gabrielle looked away, his expression haunted. 'No,' he said quietly. 'It's over.'
I felt a pang of sadness, a mix of empathy and heartache. Despite everything, despite my own feelings, I wanted him to be happy.
'I... I don't know what to say,' I admitted, my voice breaking. 'I'm here for you, Gabrielle. Always.'
Silence stretched between us, the unspoken words hanging heavy in the air. In that moment, I realized that no matter how much time had passed, no matter how many obstacles stood between us, I still loved him. And maybe, just maybe, he still loved me too."
Michaella closed her laptop, her hands trembling. The words she had written were more than just fiction—they reflected her own heartache, her own longing for a love that seemed destined to remain unspoken. She wiped away a tear, her thoughts drifting to Gabrielle and the bittersweet memories they had shared.
"I know what you guys would think," she whispered to herself, her voice barely audibles in the quiet room. "But no, I'm not happy. I loved him that much."
