Michaella's POV

Packing my bag, I felt a mix of excitement and anticipation. It had been too long since I'd taken a break, and the idea of a weekend getaway with my cousins and friends sounded perfect. I glanced at my packed clothes, ensuring I had outfits that would look good for my Instagram stories and pictures.

"Ready to go?" Elijah asked, popping his head into my room.

"Almost," I replied, zipping up my suitcase. "I just need to grab my camera and phone charger."

We all gathered outside, loading our bags into the car. Matthew's girlfriend, Marian, and Mia were already chatting excitedly about the trip. Alan and Matthew were sorting out the travel details, making sure we had everything we needed.

The drive to the countryside was filled with laughter and music. I took out my phone and started filming snippets for my Instagram stories, capturing the beautiful scenery, the group singing along to songs, and the occasional funny moment.

"Hey everyone!" I said, turning the camera to myself. "We're on our way to a weekend getaway. Stay tuned for some fun and relaxing moments!"

Arriving at the cozy cabin nestled near a serene lake, I felt a sense of peace wash over me. The place was picturesque, perfect for unwinding and creating content. We quickly settled in, dividing rooms and unpacking.

I took out my phone again to capture the breathtaking view from the cabin's porch. I posted a few pictures and short clips, tagging everyone and adding playful captions.

After a hearty lunch prepared by Matthew and Marian, we decided to explore the area. Hiking through the nearby forest, I snapped photos of the lush greenery and captured candid moments of my friends.

As evening approached, we gathered around a bonfire. The sky was a canvas of stars, and the fire cast a warm, flickering light. Elijah pulled out his guitar, and we all took turns singing along to our favourite songs.

The fire crackled as we laughed and sang, but soon someone suggested a game of Truth or Dare. The group eagerly agreed, and we settled into a circle around the fire.

"Elijah, you're up first," Mia said with a mischievous grin.

Elijah picked Truth, and the game began. The questions ranged from silly to deeply personal, each answer revealing something new about us. When it was my turn, I chose Dare, and ended up performing a dramatic reading of a romantic poem I'd written.

Matthew dared Marian to share her most embarrassing moment, and we all laughed as she recounted a story about getting her foot stuck in a boat's ladder.

When it was Alan's turn, he chose Truth, and we all waited with bated breath. "What's one thing you've never told anyone?" Mia asked.

Alan hesitated, then confessed, "I've always wanted to be a chef. I never told anyone because I thought it sounded silly."

The group responded with supportive cheers and encouragement. It was moments like these that made me feel grateful for my friends and family. We shared stories, laughed heartily, and the bond between us grew even stronger.

As the night deepened, the game of Truth or Dare gave way to more relaxed conversations. I decided to film some of these moments for my stories, capturing the genuine joy and camaraderie of the evening. I posted a video of us around the fire, laughing and talking, with a caption that read, "Unforgettable night with the best people. Moments like these are what life is all about. 💛"

Later, as we were winding down, I took out my phone again to check for any new notifications. Gabrielle had liked several of my stories and photos from the trip. Seeing his name on my screen brought a mix of emotions. I hadn't heard from him since our last conversation, and the fact that he was interacting with my posts made me wonder about his feelings and intentions.

"Everything okay?" Mia asked, noticing my thoughtful expression.

"Yeah, just... Gabrielle liked my stories," I replied, my voice tinged with uncertainty.

Mia gave me a reassuring smile. "Don't let it ruin your weekend. Enjoy the moment."

I nodded, putting my phone away and focusing on the present. I leaned back, letting the soothing sounds of the forest and the warmth of the fire calm my racing thoughts.

The next day, we decided to have a lakeside picnic. I documented the entire day, from setting up the picnic blanket to playing games and enjoying the delicious food. I posted vibrant photos and playful videos, my followers flooding my posts with likes and comments.

In the evening, we took a boat out onto the lake. The water was calm, reflecting the colors of the setting sun. I took a moment to myself, sitting at the edge of the boat and dipping my fingers into the cool water. I thought about Gabrielle, the recent events, and my journey so far.

"Hey, you okay?" Alan asked, coming over to sit beside me.

"Yeah, just thinking," I replied with a small smile.

Alan nodded, understanding. "Sometimes a change of scenery is all we need to gain perspective."

As we returned to the cabin, I felt lighter. The weekend had been exactly what I needed—a break from the chaos, a chance to reconnect with myself and my loved ones. I knew the journey ahead was still filled with uncertainties, but I felt ready to face whatever came my way.

Back at the cabin, I posted one last picture from the trip—a group photo of all of us, smiling and happy. I captioned it, "Moments captured with my loved ones 💛"

As I put my phone away and joined my friends for one last night of laughter and stories, I knew I was on the right path. I was creating my own fairytale, one step at a time.
