Michaella's POV
The morning sun streamed through the curtains, waking me with a gentle warmth. I stretched lazily, feeling the excitement bubbling inside me for the day ahead. Today was special—a day to prepare, to tie up loose ends before the big event. But first, it was time for some fun.
I got out of bed, quickly slipped into my tennis outfit, and tied my hair into a sleek ponytail. As I laced up my shoes, I thought about how much I needed this. A morning with my cousins, playing tennis, laughing, and just being ourselves—no pressure, no expectations. It was the perfect start to the day.
I grabbed my keys and headed out the door. The cool morning air hit my face as I walked to my car. The drive to the tennis court was quick, and as I pulled into the parking lot, I spotted Elijah, Matthew, and Alan already warming up.
"Look who finally decided to show up!" Alan called out, grinning as I approached.
"Hey, I'm only five minutes late," I teased back, tossing my bag onto the bench.
We started our game, the sound of tennis balls thwacking against rackets filling the air. The banter between us was light and playful, a familiar rhythm that always made me feel at ease. Elijah, ever the competitor, couldn't resist throwing in a few jokes about my form.
"Come on, Michaella, put some muscle into it!" he laughed as I missed a particularly fast serve.
"Don't push her too hard, Elijah," Matthew chimed in. "She's been sick, remember?"
I rolled my eyes, though I appreciated the concern. "I'm fine, guys. Just a bit rusty, that's all."
After an hour of playing, we decided to call it a day. Sweaty and breathless, we gathered our things, still joking and talking as we headed to our cars.
"See you later?" Alan asked as he slung his bag over his shoulder.
"Definitely. I have some things to do, but I'll be around tonight," I replied.
They all nodded, and with a chorus of goodbyes, we parted ways. I drove back home, the morning's energy still buzzing through me. Once inside, I took a long, hot shower, washing away the sweat and savouring the feeling of the water against my skin. The day was just beginning, and there was so much to do.
After my shower, I threw on a nice outfit and grabbed my purse. It was time to find the perfect outfit for tomorrow. I needed something that would make a statement—something that would reflect the excitement and significance of the event. The anticipation was already building, and I wanted to look and feel my best.
Shopping was always a bit of an escape for me. I loved the process of finding something that felt just right, something that spoke to me. Today, I was on a mission. I visited several boutiques, trying on outfits after outfits, until I finally found it—the perfect outfit. A sleek, elegant suit that was both timeless and modern. It was exactly what I'd envisioned.
