Michaella's POV

I woke up feeling unusually refreshed, the morning sunlight filtering softly through the curtains. Taking a deep breath, I welcomed the calm that seemed to envelop the room. After a light breakfast of avocado toast and a smoothie, I decided to go for a run. The cool morning air invigorated me, each step rhythmic and purposeful, the soft thud of my feet on the pavement setting a steady pace.

Returning home, I took a long, hot shower, the water washing away the sweat and fatigue. My skincare routine followed, the cool serums and creams refreshing my skin. Dressed in a chic, old-money outfit—an elegant blouse tucked into high-waisted trousers with heels—I felt ready to embrace the day.

Settling at my writing desk, I felt a surge of creativity. The blank pages before me seemed less intimidating today. I dove into writing several pages of my book, capturing a pivotal scene that had been brewing in my mind. The words flowed smoothly, each sentence building on the last. Short, intentional breaks to stretch and clear my head ensured that I remained focused and productive throughout the morning.

Feeling a renewed sense of confidence in the direction of my story, I took a moment to reflect on the progress I had made. The characters and plot were coming together beautifully.

Transitioning to podcast work, I reviewed my script and made necessary adjustments. I gathered materials and refined my ideas, ensuring that the upcoming episode would be engaging and informative. The process was invigorating, and I felt a surge of excitement as I envisioned the final product. With the script ready, I headed to the studio for the next recording session.

Just as I was finishing my podcast preparations, my phone rang with an unfamiliar number. Taking a deep breath, I answered.

"Hello?"

"Hi, Michaella, this is Victoria from Harper Literary Agency," the voice on the other end said warmly. "I've been following your work and wanted to discuss the possibility of representation."

My heart skipped a beat. "Hello, Victoria. It's wonderful to hear from you."

Victoria expressed her admiration for my writing and discussed the potential for collaboration. We scheduled a meeting for next week, and I ended the call feeling elated. This was a significant step forward, a testament to my hard work and dedication.

Eager to share the news, I met Elijah and Matthew at our favourite café, a charming spot with a relaxed atmosphere. As we sat down with our coffee and sandwiches, I couldn't contain my excitement.

"Elijah, Matthew, you're not going to believe this," I began, my voice brimming with enthusiasm. "A literary agent contacted me today. She's interested in representing my work."

Elijah's eyes widened with excitement. "Michaella, that's fantastic! I'm so proud of you!"

Matthew added, "This is huge! We have to celebrate."

We clinked our coffee cups together, celebrating my accomplishment. Elijah then mentioned a writing retreat coming up soon, suggesting it might be the perfect opportunity for me to gain further inspiration and network with other writers. The idea intrigued me, and I promised to consider it.

After lunch, I headed to the studio for my podcast meeting. The team was already there, and we quickly got down to business. The discussion was productive, and we finalized the script for the next recording session, which would be today. I felt energized about the direction of the podcast. And I was glad that Alex wasn't here, because I'm not in the right mood to handle that.
