Michaella's POV

Setting my now-empty cup down, I take a deep breath. Today is about celebrating those who have been there for me and saying a temporary goodbye to Pamela before she leaves for Paris. I head to my room, carefully choosing a casual yet chic outfit, the kind Pamela would appreciate—a white long shirt tucked under a grey blazer, paired with delicate gold jewellery.

I grab the gift I bought for Pamela—a pair of Gucci heels she's been eyeing for a while—and head out. The drive to the restaurant is peaceful, the city buzzing with life as I merge into the flow of traffic.

When I arrive, Pamela is already waiting, looking effortlessly stylish as always. We hug tightly, both knowing how much we'll miss our regular catchups.

The restaurant is cosy, with soft lighting and a welcoming ambiance. We order our meals, and as we wait, I pull out the gift bag from under the table and hand it to Pamela.

"What's this?" she asks, her eyes widening with surprise.

"Just a little something for Paris," I say, smiling.

She opens the bag and gasps when she sees the shoes. "Michaella, these are stunning! You shouldn't have."

"I know how much you loved them," I say, feeling pleased with her reaction. "Consider it a little going-away present. And also a thank you for always being here."

Pamela gets up and comes around the table to hug me again, this time with even more warmth. "Thank you so much. I'll think of you every time I wear them."

We return to our seats, and I tell her about the email I received last night.

"They want me to do a book signing event," I say, trying to keep my voice steady. "They loved my speech and think it could be a great collaboration."

Pamela's eyes light up, and she reaches across the table to squeeze my hand. "Michaella, that's amazing! You deserve this so much."

I smile, feeling the warmth of her words settle in my chest. "It's surreal, you know? I've worked so hard for this, and it's finally happening."
