Michaella's POV

The soft glow of the morning sun filtered through the curtains as I slowly opened my eyes, the promise of a busy day ahead urging me to get up. I stretched, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness flutter in my chest. Today was a day of firsts, and it felt like a turning point, the start of something new.

By 7 a.m., I was already in the shower, the warm water soothing away the remnants of sleep. I let my thoughts wander as I washed my hair, thinking about the interviews I had scheduled. It was my first time hiring an assistant, and the thought of choosing someone who would help me manage my growing workload felt both empowering and daunting.

After the shower, I applied a little makeup—just enough to feel polished without overdoing it. Concealer, tint blush, mascara. Simple but effective. My hair fell in soft curls down my shoulders, and I decided to leave it that way, knowing it would add a touch of elegance to my look. I stood in front of my wardrobe, scanning through my clothes until I found the perfect outfit: a tailored blazer, a corset top, and high-waisted trousers. The ensemble exuded confidence, exactly what I needed for today.

Downstairs, I prepared myself a bowl of Greek yogurt with fresh fruit and made my coffee. I sat at the counter with my iPad, going over the questions I wanted to ask the candidates. As I read through them, I felt a sense of clarity settle over me. I knew what I was looking for in an assistant—someone who could keep up with my fast-paced world, someone sharp and intuitive.

Time flew by, and before I knew it, it was 9:30 a.m. I gathered my purse, work bag, and another tote filled with notes and documents, and headed out the door. The interviews were set to take place at a cozy café I loved, a quiet spot with just the right amount of ambiance for a meeting like this.

Sarah, the first candidate, arrived promptly at 10:00 a.m. She was well-dressed, with a confident smile, and carried herself with an air of professionalism.

"Good morning, Sarah," I greeted her with a smile. "Thank you for coming."

"Good morning, Michaella. Thank you for the opportunity," she replied, taking a seat.

We exchanged pleasantries before diving into the interview. I started with a simple question, "Can you tell me a little about your previous experience and why you're interested in this position?"

Sarah nodded, her posture poised. "I've worked as an executive assistant for a few years now, primarily in creative industries. I handled scheduling, correspondence, and event planning, among other tasks. What excites me about this position is the opportunity to work in a more dynamic and personal setting, where I can contribute to a creative project like yours."

I liked her answer—it was clear she knew what she was doing. "That's great. One of the key aspects of this role is being able to adapt quickly and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Can you give me an example of how you've done that in the past?"
