My body feels drained, I spent the entire night looking at the ceiling and thinking about the meet. Mrs. Gibbs said we were to make it to school by six thirty sharp. I looked at the clock it was six twenty but my body and brain was against the notion of moving, but I forced and got off the bed and tried to stretch away the feeling. So what if I'm a little late the meet doesn't start for the next two hours.
I dragged my body to the bathroom and into the shower. Let me just say the shower works miracles on the body I felt rejuvenated already. I blow dried my hair and tied it into a ballerina bun for the meet, can't have loose hair. I tugged on the leotard it was a little snug but I was able to move in it.
I was ready in less than twenty minutes even with a healthy breakfast. I locked the house and waited for a taxi at the bus stop. When the taxi arrived it was just minutes to seven still early. I told him were I was going and in less than five minutes we were at the school. The school yard was packed with other school bus' and private cars.
"Daniella! You are late!" The coach yelled at me and I rolled my eyes. She loves shouting at people she easily annoyed.
"Yes, but I still made it on time." I wiggled my eyebrows at her.
"You had me worried." She pinched the bridge of her nose. "I was about to come to your house to get you." She looked at me with tired eyes.
"Aww...I knew you cared." I smiled at her.
"Get your butt in the gym." She ordered me. I blew her a kiss and she sighed. I didn't give her a lot of trouble I just like seeing her frustrated, plus she needed to lighten up. I often used The Joker line on her 'Why so serious?'
The gym was almost packed, people were there laughing and smiling. Parent were hugging and kissing their kids and I looked for my parents I had told them it was today. They promised they would make it. I looked for my friends and Andre in the crowd but I didn't see any of them then again it's really early in the morning.
Our school team met in one of the classrooms Sara was here as well to give her support for the team. She talked to the three other girls while I stayed in the corner trying to adjust the leotard. She glanced as me and I swear she gave me a small nod and smile.
"Daniella?" I looked up from my leotard.
"Yes. Uhm...Brittany right?" I looked at one of the girls that was on the team, she was a bit taller than me but really skinny.
"I was wondering if you would do my hair." She looked down at her feet.
"Yea sure just sit." I pointed at a chair. She sat obediently and I brushed her hair and put in a nice bun. I stuck a lot of pins in it so that it wouldn't loosen when she was participating. "Is it too tight?" I asked as I gave her a mirror to look at the bun.
"No its perfect thank you." She smiled at me and continued to admire the bun. She went back to her friends I they looked at the bun with admiration. They all looked at me and started towards me with broad smiles.
"Will you do ours as well?" Natalie asked.
"Uhm...sure, why not." I said as she sat in the chair and on after another I did their hair. It was eight thirty when I was done and it was time to go out to the gym. I was nervous as hell my heart beat had accelerated.
"Are you nervous?" I looked up at the person that asked the question, it was Sara. Why was she talking to me? We were enemies, she was hell bent on destroying me.
"Yes." I sighed right now she didn't matter.
"Don't be just think of it was gym class with more people." She actually was smiling at me and giving me advice.
