The day after the party, Caitlyn had decided to visit Sheriff Grayson in her office. When she got to the station, officers were leaving for their lunch breaks and the place was almost empty. Only the sheriff, the deputy, and a little red headed girl were there.
"Caitlyn," The sheriff spoke with a smile as the shooter walked in, "Wow, things seem to be going well."
Caitlyn looked down at her stomach, "Oh, right. That. Yes, things are going well. Only recently I have decided to finally leave my home."
"I see. Well, if this is all too much for you right now, you could always leave and return home to rest."
"As heavy and unmotivated as I feel, I do know that I have to have a bit of social contact. I went to a cocktail party last night."
"A ball, you mean?"
"No. A cocktail party. It isn't much of a ball. It is a party where they serve cocktails."
"Jayce Talis's party, I assume."
"Yes. He is very nice and his wife is as well. Very extroverted, but sweet."
"I'm glad you were able to go then. Did you get your jewel back?"
"Oh, yes. That damn jewel... My girlfriend is working on finding a safe place for it. Anyway, I have decided to take you up on the offer. I discovered that after the death of my family, that I have a knack for deeply investigating things. That is how I found the people who killed them. I tend to have something I am looking for and if I am desperate enough, I find it. I'm not entirely into guarding buildings with no human interaction, only investigations."
"The only buildings truly guarded are council homes and the building withholding those council meetings. If you believe you are fit for the job, you may investigate a few cold cases if you'd like. I need to clear them out anyway. You are also able to do investigations within your home."
Caitlyn smiled, "Thank you. You have been nothing but kind to me, sheriff."
"Grayson to you."
The deputy cleared his throat, "You believe it is wise to allow a blood mafia member to investigate our cold cases?"
"Marcus, your daughter is right there-"
"I'm sorry, deputy," Caitlyn spoke up, "Do you believe it is wise to blatantly disrespect a pregnant woman? Marcus, your daughter is right there. I believe you are harming her ears with your salty opinions towards me. How would her mother feel?"
Marcus gave a shit-eating grin, "You could say her mother was a one night stand."
"Very well then. I have a high respect for you, Sheriff although your pick on who is deputy was very poor. I'll see myself to some cold cases in the closet, thank you."
"Do you even know where it is?" Grayson asked.
"Yes, I was once a resident of Piltover to a very respected family. Or have you forgotten because I'm apparently a slimy mafia member?"
"See yourself to it then."

Caitlyn sat in her bed, going through the cold case files she picked up. Suddenly, the heat in the room grew hotter and she found her hand wiping sweat from her forehead every ten seconds. She changed into some shorts, perhaps the pants were too much. But that didn't work, so she changed into a sports bra, but the heat was becoming more suffocating. She began to fan herself with some papers as Vi walked in.
"Hey, cupcake, what's wrong?" The fighter asked.
"It's hot," Caitlyn said, continuing to fan herself.
