"Vi, can you please help me with this?" Powder asked slamming her pencil down on the bar. In Vi's hand was a beer while the other was trapped in arm cast. Earlier that morning, Vi had refused to stay in bed and allow her healing process to go through the normal way. Only the day before, she was on an operating table while doctors were trying to save her nearly amputated arm.

"Depends on what it is," Vi told her little sister leaning on the bar, "We both know I suck at reading."

"Math, you dyslexic ass?" Powder asked.

"Sure, tell me the problem."

"Three fourths times x minus seven less than or equal to x minus three."

"You mean to tell me you can't solve that?"

"Vi! Help me!"

"It's x greater than or equal to nine."

"I don't believe you."

"I guessed, look it up if it's that hard."

"You just guessed! There's a 70% chance you're wrong!"

"Wow, you knew that but you couldn't figure out that easy ass problem."

Powder rolled her eyes and pulled her phone out of her pocket. She kept glaring at Vi as she looked up the answer to the problem. Vi assumed she was right when Powder put the phone down and rolled her eyes.

"I see the answer in my head. Psychic ability, am I right?"

"Oh, shut up."

"It's either a lucky guess or your sister's a genius."

"Genius's can read better-"

"Hey, hey, enough with the dyslexia jokes. I'm getting better."

"Are you?"

"Yeah, Caitlyn helps me."

"Awwww, your girlfriend helps you read. That's so second grade of you guys."

"Shut up, at least she cares."

"I knew I'd catch the two of you talking shit about me," A voice said coming from the stairs.

"Nothing but good things," Vi said looking Caitlyn.

"Sure..."

Caitlyn had been a little distant with Vi since the day before when Vi refused to let anyone take proper care of her. Vi never Caitlyn could never entirely ignore her like that, so she keeps her distance.

"Yeah, Caitlyn, I'm talking to Vi about how much of a good caretaker you would be when she gets dementia," Powder said as Vi shot her a glare, "Hey, it runs in the family. It's probably gonna happen."

Caitlyn scoffed and rolled her eyes as she unlocked the gun case behind the bar. She took out her guns one by one and reloaded them, "She wouldn't even let me take care of her when she almost lost a limb," the woman mumbled.

"Caitlyn, come on, don't be like this," Vi said, "I don't like it when people look after me like that."

"Are you sure it's not your ego?" Caitlyn asked putting one of the pistols in the holster on her waist. She refused to make eye contact.

"Seriously? You what? Fine, be mad at me. You would do the same thing."

Caitlyn turned around to see Vi standing directly in front of her looking into her eyes, "You know you would."

"At least I admit it." Caitlyn moved her way past Vi and down to the basement.

"Wow, she took it personally," Powder said sharpening and blowing the shavings off her pencil, "You must've said something harsh."
