Vi poured a glass of beer, sliding it down to a drunk. Thank god it wasn't her day to know when the drunks had too much and would need to leave. Her and her brothers would take turns. Vander was too weak to do it anymore due to his autoimmune disorder. It pretty much meant that his immune system would sometimes attack his healthy body tissues by mistake. It does the opposite of what it's supposed to do. Vi would think back on it, make herself overthink, then realize that it was slow acting and that Vander would probably still be in his 60s or 70s if he died from it.
Mylo snapped her out of her thoughts by just being annoying. "Ever think about how much older I am than you?"
Vi rolled her eyes and gave him the most deadly side eye. "No, but I do think about how I could just haul off and punch the shit out of you one day. At any moment. Like right now."
He patted her shoulder. "Love you too, sis." She flipped him off as he walked in the back to probably annoy Claggor or Vander. She looked up from the shiny wooden bar to see her little sister skipping over with her friend Ekko. "Hey, Vi!" The little girl called out. "Is it okay if I play with Ekko in the alley?"
"Yeah, of course." Vi said, smiling at her little sister's blue bug eyes. "Just be careful who you bump into, Pow."
"Okay!" Powder said as she and Ekko ran out, giggling. Vi chuckled to herself before Vander walked downstairs from his office. "Everything going well?" He asked, walking behind the bar.
"Yeah, not too crowded. Also, it's only Wednesday." Vi explained.
"Glad you reminded me. I'm beginning to lose track of days as I get older."
"You're not that old, relax. You're just becoming lazy."
"Ha ha, if anyone becomes lazy, you know it's gonna be Mylo."
"You said it, not me..."
"Just saying your thoughts for you, kiddo." Vander said with a smile as he patted Vi's back and walked off back upstairs.
The bell at the main door rang. Vi looked up to see that familiar face with a set of blue eyes and a small scar on the right cheek. Caitlyn once again. "Look who decided to come back." Vi said sarcastically as Caitlyn sat at the barstool in front of her.
"Pleasure to see you too." The girl said, placing her fake ID on the bar.
"No need to scan it..."
"I have a question for you."
"For me? Why?"
"Do you know anyone with the name Silco?"
Vi froze. Yeah, she knew Silco. Everyone in Zaun knew Silco. And Sevika. But Deckard had recently gone missing. Whatever happened, Vi hoped he suffered. She knew Silco because of Vander. "Oh, yeah... I know who that is." Vi said, looking around awkwardly.
"Do you have any idea where he might be?"
"Who's asking?"
"Me. Who else would be asking?"
"Half of the Southside, cupcake. He's a common hated person."
"What did you just call me...?"
"Silco's probably hiding out like the pussy piece of shit he is. I could get my dad for you, but I'm not sure he'd trust you. You're too new."
"Good to know I have someone to talk shit to."
"Always... Maybe my dad knows something I don't."
"I wouldn't want to bother him."
"You won't. He likes new faces, just doesn't give all his information to them."
"Understandable."
Suddenly, Vander had walked back downstairs to get a glass of beer for himself. "Speaking of the devil." Vi said sarcastically.
"Talking shit about all of your parental problems, Vi?" Vander said with a grin, as he poured beer into a cup.
"No, I was actually about to come get you for something."
"And ask me for what? For money?"
"No, I just get some out of the register of I need it. No, I was actually gonna introduce you to a friend here. She needs information that I can't give to her fully."
"Nice to meet you. Although, you look a little young..."
"I am." Caitlyn stated. "I was actually about to leave. I didn't want to bother you, but Vi insisted."
"Depends on what intel you need."
"Silco."
Both girls watched Vander tense up a little. He sighed and then smiled. "I'm afraid that's a bit private."
"Specifically why I didn't want to bother you." Caitlyn said, looking at her black-painted finger nails then back at Vander. "It's only for myself, I promise."
"You look a bit familiar..."
"Familiar...?" Caitlyn herself began to tense up. "I wonder where you remember me from."
"What was your name?"
"Uh, Caitlyn..."
"Kiramman?"
"What? I-no! No, Du Couteau."
"Ah, okay."
"Vander, I'm not sure this is a good idea..." Vi mumbled awkwardly.
"I-I should probably go..."
"Silco is hiding out. He moves around the city a lot. Both of them. If you know what his goons look like, you'll know where he is. They always give it away. Caitlyn, what exactly are you planning to do with him?"
"You hate him?"
"Definitely. But he's a problem of my past."
Caitlyn leaned closer and began to whisper. "I'm not sure I can be honest..."
"Are you planning to kill him? Is that why you needed information?"
"I really can't tell you... I shouldn't either... I shouldn't even do what I'm planning to do, but I need to. I feel like I need to."
"You probably do if it's what I'm thinking."
"I'll keep a lookout on his goons. Thank you."
"Here's a tip. He's weakest in the head. He's a damn fool."
"I assumed." Caitlyn said, getting up and walking to the exit. "Thank you, sir." She added before walking out.
"That girl is a mystery, isn't she?" Vander asked Vi. She shrugged her shoulders. "I think she could do it. If she's who I think, she has the right amount of anger."
"Who do you think it is?" Vi asked.
"Don't worry about it..." Vander mumbled, taking his cup of beer upstairs with him.
