Caitlyn, as always, sped down the backroads back to Noxus. Once she got back, the only person awake was Marcus. He was in the kitchen, drinking, but it wasn't his usual drink of red wine. Caitlyn knew moonshine when she saw it. Marcus wasn't typically one for heavy drinking, so something was clearly bothering him.

Caitlyn walked in the kitchen and he looked up at her, cleared his throat, then looked back at his granite counter. "How'd it go?" He asked.

"I visited Piltover." Caitlyn said, wondering how Marcus would react. He slammed his glass down, nearly breaking it.

"You what?"

"No one noticed me. I just went to the diner, a bar, then came back..."

He noticed how Caitlyn was looking down. The story was majorly shortened, it was clear. She left out a large part of it. He gave her a death glare and sighed in frustration. "Tell me the truth."

"I had my first kill..." Caitlyn mumbled.

"First what? First kill? Oh! That's nice! At least you had yours!"

"Sir, is something wrong?"

"Oh, no..." He coughed, then laughed painfully. "Katarina failed me. I gave her that car and she ran. After all I've done for her..."

"Maybe she felt pressured... You train her quite harshly. I'm sure she had her reasons."

"Certainly not a good one!"

"Sir, you look tired. Are you going to lie down anytime soon?"

"No... y-you go."

Caitlyn sighed and let him be. There was no point in trying to stop him, she knew that he wouldn't remember it. She'd seen it before on other people when she was little. Her cousin was a heavy drinker and wouldn't remember anything he said or did until the next day.

Caitlyn walked into her room and collapsed onto her bed. She smiled to herself and thought about how smart Katarina was and how Marcus put way too much trust into her. He taught her too much, then treated her terribly. She ought to learn how to run away silently.

Caitlyn fell asleep in the clothes she was wearing. When she woke up in the middle of the night she got up, changed, then went back to bed. She woke up late the next morning. Usually, Marcus, Talon or Cassiopeia. Never Katarina, she was the only one that really respected boundaries.

Caitlyn walked past Marcus's room to see that his bed was empty. She walked downstairs and saw him passed out on the couch in the living room. She went back upstairs and saw that the kids were still asleep. Suddenly, she heard a racket coming from the kitchen and ran downstairs. It was Katarina.

"Katarina!" Caitlyn whisper shouted as the red headed girl froze and gave her an awkward smile. "You idiot, Marcus could come in here at any given time after that!"

"Hey, you were the one that said my name!" Katarina said back as she put the plate that caused the loud racket on the island.

"Where on earth did you go?" Caitlyn asked, sitting at one of the barstools.

"Demacia..."

"Why so far?"

"I'd never been down that road and I wanted to see it."

"You had Marcus thinking you ran away."

"What? No, that would make no sense. I have no money at all whatsoever."

"Well, he did get quite upset after the last time he left you in charge with a hundred dollars..."

"Yeah, two years ago."

"It took him some time to come back from that."

"He's still coming back from it."

Katarina started pouring some coffee into a cup. She looked a little nervous and secretive. Caitlyn looked around as if she didn't know anything. "What did you do in Demacia?" Caitlyn asked, still looking around like an idiot.

"Just some stuff..." Katarina said, taking a sip of her coffee.

"Meet anyone interesting?"

"Maybe, but don't worry about it..."

"You've got me curious now. Tell me."

"My dad taught you how to lie and keep secrets... don't lie and say you won't if I tell you not to tell anyone."

"I won't. I clenched my butt when I lie, don't worry about it."

Katarina stopped herself from laughing at that remark before continuing. "His name is Garen..." she mumbled.

"Sounds like a geek."

"He's not! He's actually in Demacia to visit his family. He's in the army."

"Oh...?"

"Yes. He comes from a rich family, so he seems like a preppy white guy, but he's not."

"Katarina! You're not of age, you fool! He's in the military-!"

"Whatever! Did you take your hot new wheels anywhere?"

"Of course."

"Don't tell me you went to Piltover..."

Caitlyn looked around awkwardly. "Caitlyn!" Katarina shouted as the blue haired girl started giggling.

"What?" She said. "This place just thinks Piltover is weak, they hate Demacia. That is nowhere near as bad as where you went."

"Did you meet anyone?"

"Yeah, she's actually my age. You know instead of an adult-"

"I'm not that far from 18!"

"He's not that far from 30, is he?!"

"Caitlyn, shut up! Dad's gonna wake up!"

"I hope he does..."

"Seriously? It's not that serious."

"Not that serious? Katarina, you're fifteen and with a grown ass man. That's disgusting." Caitlyn said with a scoff and she got up and walked out of the kitchen.

As Caitlyn walked down the hall to go shoot some targets in the backyard, Marcus stumbling down it, using the wall for support. He still looked a little bit out of it, but he was sober and he knew Katarina was home.
