As Ishita rushed out to help her neighbors, Nandini settled back in the living room, her mind wandering to the upcoming arrival of their baby. She sighed softly, feeling a mix of excitement and apprehension. Manik had been incredibly supportive throughout her pregnancy, despite their occasional disagreements and mood swings.

She watched the door for a moment, wondering when Manik would return with the chocolates she had so vehemently demanded. The craving had hit her suddenly, and she knew she had been unreasonable in her outburst towards him.

Sighing softly, she ran her hand over her belly, feeling the baby kick in response to her touch.

"I'm sorry, little one," she murmured to her unborn child. "Mommy didn't mean to yell at Daddy."

She leaned back against the cushions, thinking about the past few weeks. Pregnancy had brought a whirlwind of emotions, from joy and anticipation to fear and frustration. And through it all, Manik had been by her side, patient and loving despite her mood swings and occasional outbursts.

Lost in thought, Nandini was startled by a sudden sharp pain in her abdomen. She winced, placing a hand over her belly as the pain subsided.

"Maybe just a little discomfort," she murmured to herself, trying to dismiss it as normal pregnancy woes.

Just then, her phone buzzed with a message from Manik: "Got the chocolates! On my way back now."

As Nandini anxiously awaited Manik's return with the chocolates, discomfort gradually turned into sharp, piercing pains in her abdomen. She winced, trying to breathe through the waves of agony that washed over her. Gripping the edge of the couch, she whispered reassurances to the baby, urging it not to trouble her so much.

But the pain intensified, becoming unbearable. She gasped, her screams echoing through the quiet mansion. The butler, alerted by her cries, rushed to her side, his eyes wide with concern.

"Madam, are you okay?" he asked urgently.

Nandini, clutching her belly, managed to say amidst the pain, "Go, call Amma immediately!"

Without wasting a second, the butler sprinted out of the room to call Ishita. Nandini fumbled for her phone, her hands shaking with both pain and anxiety. She dialed Manik's number, praying he would pick up soon.

On the other end, Manik, driving back with the chocolates, chuckled at Nandini's earlier message.

"Missing me already, Nandini?" he teased, expecting her usual banter.

When there was no reply, he frowned, calling her name again. All he heard was her agonized screams before the call abruptly cut off.

Fear gripped his heart like a vice. Ignoring traffic rules, he sped towards the Murty mansion, the minutes feeling like an eternity. Five agonizing minutes later, he screeched to a halt outside the mansion. Ishita, who had just returned and seen the urgency in the butler's eyes, rushed out to meet him.

"Manik, hurry! Nandini's in labor," she said urgently, her voice filled with concern.

Manik's blood ran cold. "What? How?" he exclaimed, panic setting in as he followed Ishita into the house.

They found Nandini writhing in pain on the couch, her face contorted with agony as her water broke. Without a moment's hesitation, Manik dashed to her side, kneeling beside her.

"Nandini, I'm here," he murmured, his hands trembling as he gently stroked her forehead.

Ishita, efficient in crisis, instructed Manik, "Help me get her to the car. We need to get her to the hospital now."
