Chapter-38: The D-Day

All have gone to their rooms while abhimanyu with Aditya and Zoya left to his house. Nandini sees manik standing in the balcony, she goes towards him and sees tears in his eyes.

She understands that he must be emotional about the mukti's wedding. She knows that he will not talk to her but still she gathered some courage and puts her hand on his shoulder.

Feeling a hand manik turns and sees Nandini standing there. He ignores her and turns back.

Manik: I'm not in a mood to talk so just leave.....

Nandini: I know that you are feeling low about tomorrow. You can talk if you want.....

Manik: Can't you understand a small thing that I don't want to talk to you.....

Nandini: You will feel better just let it out. Let's take a break for few minutes.....

Manik: What break???

Nandini: Forget our issues and say whatever you want. After this break we will forget what we said but it will not change anything between us so just take a break and talk it out.....

Although he didn't want to but right he just want to talk and get his mind Clear so he thought to give it a try.

Manik: I feel like a part of me is going away from me. You know when we were kids na i never let her go away from my eyes even for a minute and this time she is going away from me for ever.....

Nandini: Who said that to you? She will be here with you just an hour away. You can always meet her whenever you want. Do you think that abhimanyu or his family will mind.....

Manik: I know that but still I'm not able to digest the fact that from tomorrow she will be someone wife or daughter in law and no more my Little mukku.....

Nandini: You know when a girl get married na she feels like she is leaving her whole life to start new one but not the relations she had. She will always be our old mukku. Just that she will have more relations to handle, new family to look after.....

Manik: You are right no one can take her away from me. Thank you for this.....

At this Nandini smiled thinking that atleast she is able to make him relax and at ease.

Nandini: Can I ask you something???

Manik: As we are on a break you can???

Nandini: Do we really have to be in a bad term with eachother???

Manik: What do you mean???

Nandini: Like can't we stay like we are right this moment or..or.....

Manik knows where this is going but still he asked.

Manik: Or?

Nandini: Like that night.....

Manik: I already told you that it was just the heat of moment and means nothing to me.....

He said it so rudely and casually that it broke Nandini from inside and nodded.

Manik: Do not ever get influence by the short term moment, they are not permanent. I'm not saying it just like that, i have experienced it earlier. I was also influenced by someone whom I thought was real and genuine. But then that someone broke my dream and snatched a precious thing from me and bring me back to the reality.....

Nandini: Who is that someone???

Manik: Break is over.....

Saying this he left to room and sleeps on his side of the bed leaving Nandini in a deep thinking. After a minute she also left to sleep.
