Manik has always been a devoted husband, but fatherhood had brought out a new side of him that no one had anticipated. He was incredibly hands-on with Avyukt, ensuring he was there for every moment, no matter how small. His possessiveness for his baby was endearing, sometimes amusing, but always rooted in an overwhelming love for his son.
One morning, Nandini woke up to the sound of soft humming. She smiled, recognizing the voice immediately. Manik was already up and tending to Avyukt, babbling happily in his crib. She sat up, peeking over the edge of the bed to see Manik gently lifting Avyukt into his arms.
"Good morning, little man," Manik cooed, his eyes bright with adoration. "Did you sleep well? Daddy missed you."
Nandini watched as Manik expertly changed Avyukt's diaper, his movements confident and practiced. It had taken a lot of sleepless nights and endless diaper changes, but Manik had mastered the art of caring for their son. He was meticulous, making sure Avyukt was comfortable and happy.
"Morning," Nandini called softly, catching Manik's eye.
"Morning, beautiful," Manik replied, his voice full of warmth. "Look who's wide awake and ready to play."
Nandini chuckled, getting out of bed and walking over to them. "You're so good with him, Manik. I'm amazed every day."
Manik grinned, kissing her cheek. "I had a great teacher. And besides, I love every second of it."
As the day went on, Manik continued to show just how dedicated he was to his role as a father. He fed Avyukt, making airplane noises as he brought the spoon to his mouth, much to Avyukt's delight. He played with him, building towers out of blocks and laughing as Avyukt knocked them down with gleeful giggles.
In the afternoon, Manik decided it was time for a walk. He strapped Avyukt into the stroller, making sure he was snug and secure.
"Ready for an adventure, buddy?" Manik asked, his excitement contagious.
Nandini watched them from the doorway, her heart swelling with love. "You two have fun. Don't go too far."
"Don't worry," Manik assured her, his eyes twinkling. "We'll be back before you know it."
As they walked through the park, Manik couldn't help but beam with pride. People smiled and cooed at Avyukt, commenting on what a handsome baby he was. Manik would nod, puffing up slightly with pride.
"Isn't he just the best?" Manik would say, his eyes never leaving Avyukt. "He's got his mother's looks and his father's charm."
When they returned home, Manik gently lifted Avyukt out of the stroller and carried him inside. Nandini was in the kitchen, preparing lunch, and she turned to greet them with a smile.
"How was the walk?" she asked, taking Avyukt from Manik's arms.
"Great," Manik replied, following them into the living room. "We saw so many people, and Avyukt loved it."
Nandini sat down with Avyukt, bouncing him on her knee. "You have the best daddy, don't you, sweetheart?"
Avyukt giggled, reaching out to grab Manik's finger. Manik sat beside them, his heart swelling with happiness. He loved these moments, the quiet times when they were just a family, enjoying each other's company.
That evening, as they were preparing for bed, Manik's protectiveness shone through once more. Avyukt had fallen asleep in his crib, and Manik stood over him, watching his tiny chest rise and fall with each breath.
