Gideon and Spencer were in Los Angeles for a profiling seminar when an actress and her fiancé were killed in their home, their murders similar to ones that occurred a few months ago. The detective asked them to stay and help so the rest of the team flew out after being told and they're all at the station.
"This guy is an assassin?" Detective Owen Kim asks.
"When you look at the victimology, there's no obvious links. All the kills are clean except in the instance of the last victim, Jeremy Collins." Derek says.
"There's absolutely no evidence left at the crime scene. There's no DNA, no manifestation of psycho-sexual release, and there's no detectable signature of any kind." Jessica says.
"Remember, our profiles are formulated not just by what's present at the scene, but also what's absent." Gideon says.
"From all the evidence that we've gathered, we believe that you're looking for a type 4 assassin." Elle states.
"Type 4?" Owen asks.
"Type 1's are political assassins, like John Wilkes Booth. Type 2's are egocentrics looking for simple recognition." Spencer says.
"Type 3's are psychopaths, cold-blooded killers who leave far messier scenes. And type 4, our unsub, suffers from a major mental disorder and is frequently delusional." Hotch says.
"The closer we come to figuring out that delusion, the closer we'll get to finding the unsub." Spencer says.
"What's he going to be doing until we do?" Owen asks.
"Finding other victims." Gideon says.
"Excuse me." A man knocks on the open door. "Hi. Is there a Detective Kim here?"
"Right here." He raises his hand for a brief moment.
"You're heading the investigation into the Natalie Ryan murder?" The man asks.
"Yes." He nods once.
"Um... my-- I have a client. She's, uh... is there any place we can be private?" He asks.
"We're all working this murder." Owen says.
"Well, um..." The man clears his throat, walking into the room. "She received a note, my client did, and she freaked out. I told her not to worry about it."
"Where is the note?" Derek asks. The man hands him a newspaper that has "YOU OWE ME" written in red on one of the pages.
"Where's your client?"
"She's waiting in the other room." He informs. Derek gives Elle the paper.
"Reid, Taylor, let's go." Derek says, getting up and the three walk out.
They walk through the station, going to the room a blonde woman is in.
"Lila." Spencer says in shock making her turn to him. He smiles and waves, a little awkwardly. Jessica's eyebrows furrow as she glances between the two before looking at Derek who has a similar confused look. "Hi." Lila smiles at him.

"How well did you know Natalie Ryan?" Hotch asks Lila.
"We spoke when we saw each other in public, but we were never friends." She says.
"How about Wally Melman?" Hotch asks.
"What?" Lila asks.
"Wally Melman. He's a producer who was killed a couple months ago." Jessica informs.
"The paper said that was a robbery." Lila says.
"The paper was wrong." Gideon says.
"Did you know him?" Hotch asks.
