"We have a CIA escort, okay?" Penelope says to JJ, Jessica, and Spencer as the four step out of the elevator with the CIA agents. "It's weird. It's a little scary."

"Oh, trust me, there is nothing good about this." Jessica scoffs, shoving a handful of Cheez Its into her mouth. She lets out a deep sigh through her nose, immediately grabbing a couple more of the orange crackers.

"What do you suppose this is all about?" JJ asks.

"Call me cynical, but considering it's 2 AM, I doubt it's good news." Spencer says.

"Smart." Jessica quips.

"You are a genius." JJ comments.

The four go into the conference room where Gideon, Hotch, Derek, Elle, and a guy from the CIA already are. The group sit around the round table.

"The CIA's counterterrorism unit is engaged in a mission to save one of its informants." Hotch informs. "They suspect one of their agents is a mole, and until the identity of that mole is discovered, they've locked down the unit."

"This gives us the opportunity to profile the unsub up close." Gideon says. "Go ahead." He tells the man from the CIA.

"Let's start the video feed." He instructs into his mic. They turn to the screen as two pictures pop up.

"John Summers was the CIA's best field agent in the middle east. Three nights ago, he was found in his home in Washington. He'd been tortured and murdered." Hotch informs.

Three pictures taken of John's body at the crime scene are shown.

"The CIA made it look like suicide." Gideon states.

"How'd you like to have that job?" Spence remarks.

"Guys, look at the wound patterns. They come from two distinct angles. Different heights. One's right handed and one's left handed. Looks to me like he was tortured by more than two people." Derek says.

"Hotch, what was Summers working on?" Elle asks.

"Aaliyah Nadir had been beaten and sexually assaulted at the hands of her husband, Hassan Nadir. That's how Summers flipped her and got her to work for the CIA." Hotch says.

"What's the husband's story?" JJ asks.

"He's a diplomat for the Saudi government, but he's a fundraiser for major terrorist organizations." Hotch states.

"Aaliyah gave Summers intelligence on terrorist organizations the CIA had never been able to penetrate. Organizations Hassan, her husband, funneled money to." Gideon says.

"And Hassan realized he had a leak?" Derek asks.

"Yes, but he didn't know who." Hotch says. "For Aaliyah's protection, Summers never revealed her identity to the CIA until about eight weeks ago. CIA arranged papers for her, and Summers brought her and her children to the US about a month ago."

"Only Summers knew where he hid her." Gideon says.

"What did Hassan think happened to his family?" JJ asks.

"Car accident. Bodies too disfigured to identify." Hotch says. "Only the CIA knew it was staged. Until Hassan arrived in Washington last week under diplomatic cover."

"Only someone in this unit could have given Hassan information about his family." Spencer says.

"And now he's here looking for her. Why us?" Jessica asks.

"Over the years, I've conducted psychological evaluations on every field agent in that unit." Gideon says.

"You worked for the CIA?" Penelope asks.
