Chapter 17: Stay

Tony watches helplessly as Aloisia closes her eyes. Pepper supports him as the Adrenalin is one of the few things keeping him upright. Using Friday, Tony scans Aloisias vitals. "Boss, her heart is still beating. There is damage to her vital organs but its not severe. She needs medical attention now if she is going to have any chance at surviving" Friday replies

"Can we have some help!" Tony shouts, his voice cracking as he looks around stumbling, eventually he ends up falling into Pepper, who slowly and carefully lowers him to the floor. Steve breaks away from Wanda and runs over to them, carefully picking Aloisia up.

"Bring her to Wakanda, we can help" Shuri says, Strange nods and opens up a portal for them to walk through. Many other heroes following after him. Steve takes Aloisia, while Pepper and Rhodey help Tony, bringing them both to the medical wing. Tony sits himself on a chair while Aloisia is laid onto a bed. The technology scans her, assessing where her injures are.

Meanwhile, the other Doctors tend to Tony. Explaining that there is no way for them to recover his arm and that they will need to surgically remove it. Tony agrees, caring very little about his injured arm, he had expected to die, so losing an arm is something he can accept if it means seeing his daughter grow up and being there for the test of his family and friends. It is Al who he is worried about. However while the energy from the stones complete charred Tony's arm, it has not had the same effect on Al, her alien body better equipped and much stronger compared to that of a human.

The rest of the heroes had been taken through to a large main room where they can all sit and recover, as others will also need checking out by doctors to get some medical treatment. Shuri oversees Aloisia and her treatment in a separate room, Toyn had also insisted on being there. "There is nothing we can do for her, we may have to put a breathing machine in to help take the pressure off as she is incredibly weak and i doubt the weak and slow breaths she is taking is supply enough oxygen to her body. Does she even use oxygen?" Shuri checks.

Nodding, Tony explains, "yeah, her body adapts to whatever nutrients or energy source is in her current environment and she is equipped to turn many different gases into energy. Oxygen is one of them"

"I will put an IV drip in to give her food and get professionals to put in the breathing tube. And while I hate to say it Tony, Her injuries are extensive I wish I could say she's going to be okay, but I can't make that promise. I'm sorry" Shuri says gently, Tony nods slowly.

"We need to get you ready for surgery. Apologies for my disturbance but i need to direct you through" a doctor tells Tony, entering the room. Tony nods, following the doctor.

Before he leaves he asks, "can you bring someone in here? I don't want her to be alone" Shuri nods sympathetically at his request. Shuri places an IV in Aloisia's arm and other doctors get the breathing tube sorted. Once they are done, Shuri walks towards the main room where, Steve, Bucky, Sam, Wanda, Peter, Valkyrie, Thor, Bruce, Clint, Rhodey, Scott and Nebula sit. They had all been checked for injuries, and those that had been wounded had been patched up. While, Pepper had been directed towards Tony's room.

"Hello everyone" Shuri offer softly, the group look to her, "Aloisia is stable at the moment and in some sort of coma. Tony would like someone to sit with her while he is in surgery"

Steve stands, wanting to see her. he looks to the group to see if anyone else wishes to go with him, but they all remain seated. Shuri smiles to him and leads him through towards Al's room. Gasping softly, Steve looks to Al. Empathetically, Shuri attempts to reassure Steve "her alien genetics are the only thing keeping her alive. I believe her abilities are also helping. Her body is incredibly strong, much stronger than ours and much better adapted than humans. That's why the stones had a different effect than with Tony, and due to her attempt to redirect their energy through her rather than take it all. But using all six exhausted her mind and body, I'm not sure about her chances of surviving this" Steve nods, sitting himself in the chair next to Als bed. Shuri quietly leaves the room, she doesn't want to make any false promises, she knows these heroes may familiar with loss but that doesn't mean they aren't affected by it. From what she sees Alosias death will affect them all greatly but she doesn't want to give them false security, she's wants to prepare them for every scenario.
