Stop picking up stray dogs
After the incident with Teddy and the train, the group of 4 boys were walking calmly along the train tracks, when they came across something strange.
They saw that a bush next to the road was moving strangely, which paralyzed them, Chris asked doubtfully -hello?-
Then a boy came out from inside the bush and everyone breathed a sigh of relief, Teddy says -damn Hank... what the hell were you doing there?-
The new kid says –I was looking for bugs...- in a serious and indifferent tone, while holding his telescope.
Vern says somewhat dejectedly –great...- and Teddy adds in the same tone –fascinating-
Chris starts walking down the tracks and says –well, we're going...- Vern and Teddy quickly follow him.
But Gordie stays behind and says –hey, we were going to camp in the woods, don't you want to...?- but the other kid immediately cuts him off by answering –no- and bends down to go back to looking for bugs.
Chris grabs Gordie by the shoulders and says –well we're leaving, good luck Hank...- and guides the skinny kid forward.
Vern tells him –please stop picking up stray dogs- to which Teddy and Chris immediately respond –Heyyy-
Gordie murmurs –I feel sorry for him... he's always alone- Teddy answers –well I think he's very comfortable like that-
Vern clarifies –he's a very strange guy, he gives me the creeps- Teddy adds –likewise, and look at how we say it, the group of freaks at school-
Chris comments –don't think about him too much, they say he'll move soon anyway- shrugging his shoulders.
The group continued walking, only about 10 meters ahead they realized that Gordie had been left behind.
Chris approaches and asks –are you okay?- Gordie is startled and comes out of his deep thoughts to answer –ummm... yeah, it was nothing- and continued walking, with thoughts still in his mind.
As the group walked away along the tracks, Henry Creel emerged from the bushes again and looked at them. This time he used his "other eyes" to look at them and noticed something strange.
Each one had a small light of a different color inside them. This wasn't strange, even their spiders had them, but for some strange reason Gordie's light shone three times brighter than his friends'.
You didn't see the twist coming, did you?
