CONNECTICUT | UCONN THEATER
The lights of the stage at the University of Connecticut gleamed down on Jocelyn as she adjusted her microphone. She had done countless performances, but this one felt different. It wasn't just the cause she was supporting that made her heart race with a mixture of excitement and nerves. It was the unexpected presence in the audience that had thrown her off balance. She took a deep breath, centering herself as she glanced out at the sea of faces. The intimate setting of the benefit allowed her to see more clearly than usual. And there she was, sitting a few rows from the front, her blonde hair shining under the lights, her blue eyes focused intently on Jocelyn. Paige Bueckers.
The same Paige Bueckers who had stolen her breath away at a party in Manhattan a few months ago. The same Paige with whom she had shared a night of unexpected passion, only to ghost her the next day out of fear when the feelings became too real.
Jocelyn's heart hammered in her chest as memories of that night flooded back. The laughter, the electricity, the connection. And then the fear, the panic of realizing she was falling for someone who could potentially complicate her carefully managed life. She had left without a word, unable to face the possibility of vulnerability.
FLASHBACK: NEW YORK CITY | CELEBRITY PARTY
It was a balmy night in Manhattan, the city alive with energy. Jocelyn had attended the party more out of obligation than desire, but she was glad she had come the moment she saw Paige across the room. Paige was laughing with friends, her eyes sparkling under the dim lights, and Jocelyn couldn't take her eyes off her.Their eyes met, and something unspoken passed between them. Jocelyn felt a magnetic pull, and before she knew it, she was making her way across the room. They exchanged pleasantries, the conversation flowing effortlessly. There was an undeniable chemistry, a spark that neither could ignore.
One drink led to another, and soon they found themselves in a secluded corner, talking about everything and nothing. Paige's laugh was intoxicating, and Jocelyn found herself leaning in closer, her heart pounding.
"Do you want to get out of here?" Paige asked, her voice low and inviting.
Jocelyn hesitated for a moment, but the desire in Paige's eyes made her decision for her. "Yes," she whispered.
They stumbled into a taxi, their hands entwined, and made their way to Jocelyn's hotel. The ride was a blur of stolen glances and hushed laughter. As soon as the elevator doors closed behind them, Paige pulled Jocelyn into a kiss, soft and urgent.
By the time they reached the room, the air was thick with anticipation. Jocelyn fumbled with the key card, her hands trembling. As the door swung open, they barely made it inside before their lips met again, more desperate this time.
Clothes were discarded hastily, a trail leading to the bed. Jocelyn's heart raced as she felt Paige's hands on her skin, her touch sending shivers down her spine. They moved together in a dance of passion, exploring each other with a mix of tenderness and fervor.
