The venue was a sea of light, just as Jocelyn had envisioned. Her guests were mingling under the soft lights, but she was too busy to notice much beyond the tasks she had to oversee. In her shimmering gold mini dress, she moved with purpose, making sure everything was in place for her album release party. Tonight was supposed to be perfect, and she was determined to make it that way.

Paige walked in with her friends. The contrast between Paige's cool demeanor and the tension that followed her was palpable. She knew showing up here after everything that had happened was risky, but she couldn't stay away—not tonight, not from Jocelyn.

As Paige and her friends made their way into the room, they were immediately spotted by Dove, who was chatting up near the entrance. Dove's eyes narrowed, and without hesitation, she stormed over to Paige, her anger barely contained.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Dove snapped, her voice low but laced with fury.

Paige met her glare with calm determination. "I'm here for Jocelyn."

"Jocelyn?" Dove scoffed, incredulous. "Was she on your mind when you were making out with that PR slut?"

Paige flinched but stood her ground. "I know I fucked up, Dove. I'm not here to start anything. I just want to be here for her, to support her."

"Support her?" Dove's voice was rising, drawing glances from nearby guests. "You think showing up here after what you did is support? You've got some nerve, Paige."

Paige's expression softened, guilt clouding her features. "I love her, Dove. I'm trying to make things right."

Dove shook her head, disbelief etched across her face. "You don't make things right by showing up and causing more pain. You should've stayed away. She deserves a night without you reminding her of what you did."

Before Paige could respond, Adam approached, sensing the tension from across the room. He placed a hand on Dove's shoulder, his voice firm but calm. "Dove, let it go. This is Jocelyn's night. The last thing she needs is more drama."

Dove shot Paige one last glare before stepping back, but the anger in her eyes didn't fade. "Just stay out of her way, Paige. She doesn't need this right now."

Paige nodded, her heart heavy with regret as she watched Dove walk away. Adam stayed behind, his gaze steady on Paige.

"You know she's right, Paige," Adam said quietly. "This isn't the time or place."

"I know," Paige admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. "But I couldn't stay away. I need to be here, even if it's just to see her."

Adam sighed, his expression softening slightly. "Then stay out of the way. Let her have this night."

With a final nod, Paige led her friends to their designated table at the back of the room. As she sat down, she caught sight of Jocelyn across the room, still oblivious to her presence. Jocelyn was laughing, her smile bright and genuine as she chatted with the DJ, completely immersed in the night she had worked so hard to create.
