CONNECTICUT
Paige walked into the boardroom, the familiar hum of activity greeting her. She just left an intense practice preparing for the team's Elite 8 game against Iowa next week. She made it just in the knick of time for her weekly meeting with her team.As she took her seat at the head of the table, her team began to gather. Her PR manager, Harper Lin, was at the front, flipping through a thick binder with an air of practiced efficiency. Harper had always been organized, but today she seemed almost too prepared.
"Alright, Paige," Harper began, setting the binder down and turning on the projector. "Let's go over the schedule for the next couple of months."
The screen flickered to life, displaying an endless list of events. Paige's eyes widened as the schedule seemed to stretch out infinitely. Paige was used to side-quests but this list was like nothing she's ever seen before.
"So, first up, we have the charity gala on the 5th," Harper said. "It's a black-tie event, and you'll be presenting an award."
Paige nodded, trying to keep track of the dates. She could feel the familiar pressure building in her chest. "Got it. And after that?"
Harper flipped to the next page, her fingers gliding over the schedule with practiced ease. "Following that, you'll have two magazine cover shoots. The first one is on the 10th, and the second one is on the 15th. Both are crucial for the upcoming campaign."
"Okay," Paige said, though she could already feel the stress starting to build. "What else?"
"On the 18th, there's a live interview with SportsNet. It's going to be a prime-time slot," Harper continued, her tone unfaltering. "Then, on the 22nd, you're scheduled to make a surprise appearance on 'Late Night with Richard Davis.'"
Paige blinked. "A surprise appearance? What's that about?"
Harper looked up, her expression unchanging. "It's a last-minute addition, but it's a great opportunity for visibility. Richard's audience is huge."
Paige's mind raced. A surprise appearance? She was barely keeping up with what had already been scheduled. "And what about my classes..?"
Harper glanced down at her notes, then back up at Paige. "We've managed to fit in some study sessions between events. They're scheduled for early mornings and late evenings. You'll need to keep up with your coursework during the day and make sure to attend all your basketball practices."
Paige sighed. "That's a lot. What's next on the list?"
Harper's expression remained professional as she flipped to the next page. "You also need to record a segment for 'Cooking with Stars' on the 25th. It's a cooking show, but it's important for broadening your appeal."
Paige's eyes widened. "A cooking show? That's new."
"Indeed," Harper said, her tone clipped. "We've also scheduled you for a launch event for a new fashion line on the 28th. And let's not forget the high-profile fundraiser on the 2nd of the very next month."
