JULIAS OFFICE | LA "Jocelyn's in love, Connor, and i'll give you a hint! It's not with you." Julia said pacing the floor of her office. Her designer heels clicking rhythmically against the marble floors.
Connor, seated on the edge of a plush chair, seemed more like a disheveled pawn than the powerful man he usually presented.
"Connor," Julia said sharply, her eyes locking onto his with unwavering intensity, "You need to propose to Jocelyn. Jocelyn is getting too close to Paige, and if she falls for her, it'll ruin everything I've worked for. We need to act now."
Connor looked up, clearly uncomfortable. "Julia, I understand, but my mom is never letting me marry Jocelyn. She's been adamant about it."
Julia stopped in her tracks, her eyes flashing with irritation. "Your mom can kiss my cold dead ass! This is about more than just your family drama. It's about maintaining our public image. Do you want to be known as the guy who lost his girlfriend of three years to some college girl?"
Connor shifted nervously. "She's gonna say no to my proposal. She's not very fond of me right now."
Julia's face hardened. "Then make the proposal so public she can't say no. We'll make it a spectacle—something so grand that it's impossible for her to reject."
Connor looked perplexed. "A public proposal? How is that going to help?"
Julia's eyes narrowed as she moved closer to him. "Think about it. We stage it at a high-profile event—something like a charity gala or a major awards show. The media will be all over it. Jocelyn will be put on the spot, and with all eyes on her, she'll have no choice but to say yes. It'll be a win-win situation for both our public image and your ego."
Connor hesitated. "What if she still says no?"
Julia's expression grew cold. "Then we make sure everyone knows about it. We spin it in a way that highlights your commitment and Jocelyn's indecisiveness. Either way, you come out looking better."
Connor rubbed the back of his neck, clearly torn. "I guess that could work, but it feels risky."
Julia's voice softened, but her tone was still commanding. "Connor, do you want to keep your public persona intact, or do you want to risk everything by letting Jocelyn get close to Paige? The choice is yours. If you're not willing to fight for it, then you don't deserve it."
Connor looked uneasy. "I don't even need Jocelyn, I was successful before her. What do I even get out of all this?"
Julia's eyes flashed with disdain. "News flash, Connor: people watch your movies because you're dating a hot little blonde named Jocelyn. Without her, you'd be directing plays in a community theater."
Connor swallowed hard. "Alright, alright. I'll go with the public proposal. When and where should we do it?"
Julia's eyes sparkled with a predatory satisfaction. "I'll handle the details. Just be ready. We'll make sure it's so over-the-top that there's no way Jocelyn can refuse without facing massive public backlash."
