Her reason: Bellamy Blake

Chapter 11

"Unity day. Bunch of crap if you ask me" I complain as I watch Jasper and Monty make alcohol.

"You've never had our Unity day" Jasper winks and I roll my eyes.

"I hope they don't come down" "The grounders will kill us" Monty says. "Maybe"

"All done" Monty says and Jasper whoops. "Ready Mel?" I nod and stand up as they grab the jug and start cheering as they run out. No thanks. I walk to the wall.

"Not partying?" Bellamy asks. I shrug. "Nah, nothing to celebrate"

"The Ark's coming down" "And why would I celebrate that?" He raises an eyebrow.

"Everyone else is. Can you tell me why you don't want it to come down? Can't be worse than being a murder"

"I didn't do anything, well I did to get arrested. I'm not scared of Jaha "

"Then what are you scared of?" I stare at him for a long moment.

"Nothing, I'm fearless" I throw him a wink and then disappear into the crowd.

"Melantha" I turn to see Octavia and Finn running towards me.

"Sup"

"We want to try to make an alliance with the grounders. You in?" I give them a look. "Lincoln said you helped him," Octavia says.

"Lincolns going to be there? Cool I'll go. He's my best friend. Let me grab my bag" I turn around glancing over my shoulder.

"George" I tilt my head and walk into the dropship. He follows me in giving me a look. "Is something wrong? Are you ok?"

"Finn wants to try to make peace with the grounders, hold up not my idea i'm the one telling you" I quickly defend his accusing look that he sends my way.

"I want you to follow us with guns just in case" "Why are you telling me this?" He asks.

"Because I don't trust anyone else" I admit feeling far more sick with that statement than I would like.

I trust Bellamy Blake.

"Don't let them send a spear through my chest" I say and he gives me a smile. "I got your back"

We arrived at the bridge and Lincolns there waiting for us. Octavia runs forward and hugs him tightly.

That's how she knew tha-OH. I close my gaping mouth and after they pull away I meet Lincoln out there I pat his shoulder.

"Good to see you're alive" "Thanks to you" I narrowed my eyes confused. "After you asked Bellamy to stop hurting he did. You saved me" I think it's national mouth gaping day because once again my mouth drops.

"They want to talk to Clarke alone," Lincoln says. "Who?" Just as the words come out of my mouth We hear noises coming towards us and out from behind a tree. Riders appear and horses.

"Horsies" I say and a large smile appears on my face and Finn looks confused at my reaction.

"Can I pet one?" I ask and Lincoln sends me a disapproving look.

"Please?" "Not now Mel" I frown and cross my arms as Clarke gets to go over to the horses.

"Well that's not fair"

"Do we really think Clarke should be talking to her?" "Who did you have in mind?" Lincoln asks. "Finn," I say honestly, turning to him. Finn sends me a small smile.

"CLARKE RUN!" I hear Jasper screaming and then a gunshot. "Oh shit" I turned to run but was roughly pulled back by a grounder who had a knife inches from my face.

"Hi?" he goes to push it into my neck when he's shot straight through the head. I let out a scream and jumped back looking to my left to see Bellamy have his gun up.

Maybe it was a good decision to trust him. Finn grabs my arm and we start running into the woods.

"I don't think peace is going to work" I yell as we run and he glares at me. We bump into Bellamy, Raven, and Jasper on the way and everyone starts yelling at each other. I stay in the back as they fight,

"Look what you did? You cost us our peace!" Finn yells at Clarke.

"I didn't invite them" all eyes go to me and I feel smaller.

"You're lucky she did! You would be dead without her" Bellamy says rather rudely to Clarke but I appreciate the rudeness.

"YOU cost us the possibility of peace! If we die it's because of you!" Octavia points at me. "Me? I didn't do anything "

"You did everything!" She shoves me back but Bellamy quickly jumps in front of me pushing her back.

"O, it wasn't her fault" Octaivia shakes her head and starts walking away. I look up to see Raven, Finn, and Clarke already gone. And Jasper followed chasing after Octavia.

I look at Bellamy. "Did I ruin our chance of peace?" I ask. "No, you, Clarke and Octavia would have died without you telling me" I simply nod.

"What's that?" He says and I follow his eyesight and look up to see the Exodus ship. "They're early" I say but tilt my head.

"They're going too fast," I mumble. Seconds drag by as the ship crashes to the ground with an explosion.

"That sucks" I blankly say. I brush past Bellamy.

At least that's one less problem.
