"Nie? Nie?! What is the Nie Sect doing here?!" Yu Ziyuan fumed.
Wei Wuxian only shook his head. He turned to Jiang Fengmian. "The Wens are nearly here. They plan to tear down Lotus Pier and turn it into a supervisory office."
Jiang Fengmian frowned. "How do you know this?"
"Lan Zhan and I found plans about the invasion while at the indoctrination, but they're here sooner than expected."
"And the Nie's?" he questioned.
Lan Xichen stepped forward. "We asked the Nie Sect to keep an eye out for movement from the Wen sect and to notify us of anything suspicious."
Wei Wuxian turned towards Lan Xichen. "I need to meet with Nie Huaisang. Something is strange about this. It's too soon."
"I will go with you," Lan Wangji stated.
Lan Xichen nodded at the both of them. "I will begin preparations here. We will be ready for your return."
"He is not going anywhere! I am positive he's the one that led the Wen Sect here! The ungrateful-"
Lan Xichen turned cold eyes towards Yu Ziyuan. "Another word would mean the Lan and Nie Sects will not support you in this invasion," he threatened.
Yu Ziyuan scoffed. "What makes you think the Jiang Sect is incapable of holding off some Wen dogs!?"
"You won't survive without them. They're numbers are far superior than our own," Wei Wuxian bit in. He turned from there before another comment could be made and rushed out. Lan Wangji was hot on his trail.
Lan Xichen proceeded with their plan and discussed further action with Jiang Fengmian while the other two left.
Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji raced out of Lotus Pier to meet with Nie Huaisang at their secluded location.
Jiang Wanyin, who was not far from the door, followed after them.
"What's going on?"
"The Wen Sect is already here."
Jiang Wanyin's eye's widened. "I thought you said they wouldn't be here for another few days!" he accused.
"I know! I'm not sure what's going on. I'm leaving to see what the situation is."
Jiang Wanyin face scrunched up. "I'm going with you."
Neither had time to oppose. They needed to meet with Nie Huaisang as soon as possible.
The three rushed to the area where the Nie's were. Hidden at a small abandoned fishing house that was covered with dense trees and bushes, Wei Wuxian quickly pulled the squeaky door open.
"Huaisang!"
"Wei-xiong!" Nie Huaisang stood up. He was sat at a low, table. His brother across from him.
"Where are the Wens? Why are they here so soon?"
"We were just discussing that. Come sit." Nie Huaisang gestured to the spot right next to him at the table. The three joined.
Nie Mingjue gained everyone's attention. "They were spotted by some of my disciples near the Jiang border. They have yet to make a move."
Wei Wuxian pursed his lips in thought. "They're waiting," he realized.
"For what?" Jiang Wanyin asked.
"Last time, they didn't strike until they knew the Jiang Sect was vulnerable. Meaning, they'll lay low until an opportunity shows itself. Would it be best to draw them out or surround them and catch them off guard?" Wei Wuxian spoke more to himself.
