Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji reached the Lanling Jin Sect. Their journey was rather long, perhaps longer than it needed to be considering they needed to keep off of main roads and any heavily populated areas.

Nie Huaisang had been in contact with them, continuing to give them updates about what the Nie and Jiang Sects next moves are. He kept them updated on how Jiang Wanyin was doing as well. Jiang Wanyin seems to have been having a hard time. He's had several arguments with his mother and has continued to push away Nie Huaisang and Jiang Yanli away. He seems angry by everything that has happened, his father dying and Wei Wuxian being banned from the sect. Though, Wei Wuxian supposes he is not that surprised.

However, Nie Huaisang should be meeting with them soon. Their next steps would require them to get together.

Wei Wuxian had a thought in mind, one that would leave the Wen Sect weakened and easy to corner.

But, before he could do that, he needed to speak with Jin Zixuan. His alliance would be necessary for the upcoming battles. The Wens will strike hard and with utter terror. They needed as much support as possible.

However, this did leave Wei Wuxian concerned. He never had much of a positive relationship with Jin Zixuan. In Wei Wuxian's eyes, the guy is a rich, overzealous, brat. Though, Wei Wuxian does recognize that he still has some positive traits, despite his family.

It was just a matter of properly appealing to those positive traits. Not to mention, discovering a way to discuss things privately with him without the concern of his father.

Jin Guanshan is the very last person Wei Wuxian wants getting involved. He already knew the coward was a traitor and certainly not worth his time of day.

Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji continued on their way, nearing their destination. Once they reached the village leading to the main entrance to the sect, they hid in the shadows, observing the cultivators on guard duty.

"We could create a distraction, then sneak in," Wei Wuxian suggests.

"We are too obvious." Lan Wangji referred to themselves. They are too well known. It wouldn't even matter if they changed their clothes, someone would recognize them. "We will be spotted."

Wei Wuxian chewed on his lip. "It's best to wait till night fall. We can use my camouflage talisman to sneak by easier." Wei Wuxian pointed his finger to the right of them. "That cart can be used as a distraction, perhaps something bumped into it and it went gallivanting down that hill." Wei Wuxian gave a cheeky smile at his own plan.

"Is it too obvious?"

Wei Wuxian shrugged. "Those Jins aren't smart enough. Besides. I'm familiar with the area, once we're in, it's not that hard to navigate and stay hidden."

Lan Wangji nodded in understanding.

The two waited. Within the shadows between two buildings, they hid until the perfect moment arrived.

The townspeople went about their business, completely unaware of the two pairs of eyes, watching them, ensuring no one came in their direction.

Slowly, the bustling town became quiet and still.

It was rather an eerie presence, when it was not full of people and noise.

Wei Wuxian pulled two talismans out from within his robes. He placed one on himself and one on Lan Wangji before putting his hands together and muttering a few words under his breath.

Instantly, it was like someone could see through them. The outlines of themselves are still there, but untrained eyes would certainly not spot them, instead, they would blend in around them with ease.
