PIPER- CHAPTER THREE

For context, there is a lot of lying in the chat, which is a component of the story. Messages from the chat will be in bold and the lies will be in underline. I don't think the Seven would usually lie to each other, but anyway....

Hazel: Hey guys! We are almost back in California. How was school for everyone?

Percy: Yeah really good!

Annabeth: Yeah, we made some friends. How is everyone?

Leo: I'm great! Trying out for the STEM team on Wednesday.

I glanced up at Jason from my phone. ''Hate to say it, but should we lie to the chat? We don't need to tell them about the mean kids'' Jason nodded.

Jason: Our day was pretty good too! Made some friends, might try for a sport. How's the Legion doing??

I nodded at Jason. I didn't usually consider lying to the group, but everyone was saying that they had had such good days, and neither me or Jason wanted to ruin the mood.

Hazel: Yeah, really good! Exited to become Praetor.

I'm glad Hazel is so exited about being Praetor. I know Jason didn't want to give up the role, but I think Hazel and Frank will work really well together.

Leo: That's amazing guys! You going to try for the swim team Perce?

Percy: Idk. I feel like that would be cheating lmao. That's cool that you're trying for the STEM team Leo. What sports you thinking Jase?

Jason gave me a sideways smile.

Jason: If I had to say, probably football or basketball. Also, you should def try out Perce!

Annabeth: It's too bad that our school doesn't have an architecture club...

I decide it's my turn to say something.

Piper: lol. Overall good days?

Annabeth: Yeah

Leo: Definitely

Frank: Boring, since we were stuck in the car all day, but yeah.

Leo: Welp, I have homework, so see you guys!

I glanced up at Jason. ''I mean, at least everyone had good days. And we didn't lie that much...other than the bullies, everything's been good...right?''

Jason just pulled me in for a hug. I thought about everything that happened today and knew we were thinking about the same thing.

How are we going to survive tomorrow?

ANNABETH

I turn my phone off, and glance up and Percy. 'I don't like lying, but at least everyone else had good days.'' I told him. ''Yeah, I mean even though I had that panic attack, I think we did pretty well, since no one saw. I'm not trying out for swim team though...that's just going to get tricky with our scars and the Mist...'' Percy said. I didn't even hesitate, knowing what he was getting at. ''You know I have a bunch of strategies saved up in here'' I tapped the side of my head ''Just say that the meets clash with...babysitting Estelle'' I told him. Percy nodded. ''I mean, I love Leo, but he just had to ask about swim team, didn't he?'' Percy smiled as he leaned back against the pillows. I nodded. ''Now, lets get back to that math problem Mrs Carson assigned us''. Percy only groaned.

FRANK

Hazel told me about how she really feels about being Praetor last night, and honestly I agree. I love that I finally have a role in the Legion, but I also wish we could be like our friends in the mortal world. I turn to her as we turn our phones off, and hug her
