LEO

Annabeth and Percy walk in front of me to Ford Street Station, and I trail behind them. We hear the bell ring in the distance as we cross the oval, walk down the road and shortcut back through the park.

The train is busy, so none of us talk. I take a look in my photos and gather my information. I'll try not to mention Ash, but it will probably come out anyway. I mean, it isn't hard. But I think I should have enough evidence: I've seen them have nightmares, a panic attack, I know they skip Greek, and I also know for a fact that they've been sneaking out- Ash mentioned it, and I thought I saw them hanging outside my apartment once, but I wasn't sure if it was them. Now I know, I have proof.

I word the confrontation in my head. What should I say?

''If you don't tell the group, I will''

Yeah.

We all get off at Light City Station. It has a nicer name then Central Downtown, in my opinion, but it's essentially still the same- graffiti, overpriced convenience stores, and masses of crowds.

We get out, and walk to Percys apartment. I google, and find out that walking, my apartment is forty minutes from Percys. Skating, that would be about twenty five minutes. I don't know where Ash lives ( South Eastern end of the city maybe?) but so far everything is checking out.

We go up the fire escape, and head into Percys room. It's now or never.

''Listen, we need to talk. I know you both lied''

Annabeth looks at me. ''What do you mean, Leo?'' She sounds worried though.

''When Jason and Piper vandalised their old school, we texted. I admitted Calypso-'' the name gets a shudder from Annabeth and Percy. I really need to give some research into those 'arai' ''- was cheating on me, and Frank and Hazel asked if you guys were hiding anything. You both said no. Obviously, that was a lie. You both have trauma''

I could say more, but I don't want to waste what I have.

The ball is in my court now.

ANNABETH

I can't believe Leo is saying this. Yeah, we had a panic attack in class. Like it matters! It's obvious we would, the teacher was talking about T- that place.

Leo looks at me and Percy, obviously looking to see if we say anything. Percy looks at me, and we stay silent.

''Okay then. I have proof.''

I bite my lip. If Leo has actual proof, then we could be in trouble. But for now, I need to assume he got worried about our panic attack and is bluffing.

''Okay, show us the proof. If you plan to send it to the chat, no one will believe your random accusations!'' I yell at him. Good thing Sally isn't home yet.

He opens his phone. ''This is footage of you both having a panic attack in class'' He shows us the video. I glare at him. ''How did you get that, Leo?'' Leo sighs. ''I decided to do a quick course in hacking while I was in Indiana. Mortal security cameras are easy. I also have footage of you both sneaking out at...our timestamp says 11: 23 PM, and you both come back at...ooh, 2: 56 AM. Any comments?''

I then realise how cooked we are. Of course, as a son of Hephaestus, it isn't too much of a stretch to believe that he could hack mortals security feeds. And if he sends that to the group...

''People at school say it's normal for you to skip Greek, and that panic attacks from you guys are normal''

Wait, what people at school? Surely not Ash? No, I don't think she and Leo exchanged numbers.

Leo nods. ''Listen, I don't want to do this-'' Before he can continue, I cut him off. ''If you don't want to, then don't'' Leo shakes his head. ''No, but I have to. You guys are my friends.''

I shake my head. ''Leo, you have been at school for less than a week! Cut it out. You don't know anything about our....situation, okay! Stop trying to interfere!''

Percy has been oddly silent. But then he speaks.

''Get. Out.'' Leo nods. ''Okay, Perce, if you want to play that game. But remember, if you don't tell the group, I will''

Percy stands up, and Leo mirrors him. Leo gets his stuff, and closes the door behind him.

Okay, what exactly just happened?

LEO

I leave the apartment, heading down the fire escape. I really shouldn't have confronted them- if anything, I've made things worse. But I already know- I've burned our relationship down.

I go back to Light City Station, and head quickly to my apartment. The sun is setting, casting New York in an orange shadowy glow. I head up the stairs to the apartment, where Olive is rummaging in the pantry.

''Hey Leo. I'm having pasta, you want any?''

I think for a moment. ''Sure Olive-''

''Liv. Call me Liv. Olive is cool, but I preferLiv. And I'll cook you a bowl''

I nod and sit on the couch.

''Can I talk to you for a minute?'

''Sure''

''So, theoretically-''

''-Leo, don't say something theoretically happened if it's happened-''

''Fine. Basically I just confronted my friends-''

''-Annabeth and Percy-''

I glance at Liv. I've never mentioned Annabeth and Percy to her, so how does she know them?

''What? How do you know them?''

Liv smiles. ''I mean, you guys did defeat Gaia a few months back, so I've heard about them. How are Jason, Frank, Piper, and Hazel by the way?''

I reach for my sword, ready to fight. What type of monster is she?

Liv only laughs. ''Put the sword down. Greek daughter of Apollo speaking. I'm surprised you didn't connect to it earlier, seeing as I was one of the medics. Anyway, what happened with Percabeth?''

I shake my head. ''Now that I know you're a demigod, and an Apollo kid, I'm not telling you nothing! Apollo kids are worse gossipers then their dad!''

Olive nods. ''I'm glad you know your stuff. Anyways, pasta is ready''

Later that night, I get a notification that Annabeth has texted me.

Of course, later that night did not mean a normal time. I was tinkering with some metal, when my phone pinged at 11:38 PM.

Annabeth: Listen Leo. I think you are being stupid, but we need to make a truce for now so we can keep things civil, especially when we go to say goodbye to Frank, Hazel, and Reyna at the airport. Okay?

Leo: Fine. Temporary truce.

Annabeth: Alright.

I knew that truce did not mean 'be friends' . But at least we could be civil.
